Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott is the number one contender for Santos Escobar, having been the only man to pin the champion in NXT, having done it twice. However, Ariya Daivari is back in town, and the 205 Live original is ready to take this shot for his own with a big win on tonights’ Main Event!
Ariya Daivari Shows His Dominance
Daivari would quickly look to take control of this match, grabbing an arm bar and sending Swerve to the mat for a pinfall attempt. Swerve would gladly wrestle with Daivari, taking him down with the leg and going to the arm himself, but Daivari got the rope and a clean break.
Daivari grabbed a headlock, and Swerve did his best to fight out, really out wrestling Daivari in the end. He extended the arm in an uncomfortable manner, and dropped his body weight on it, before going back to the arm.
Daivari got out, and picked the pace up with some strikes, only to be battered himself. Swerve would flip Daivari over his shoulders and tried for an armbar, but couldn’t get full extension, and Daivari slipped away to the outside.
Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott Came Focused
A brawl on the outside would follow, with Daivari getting back in the ring, and using the high ground advantage to get a DDT through the ropes. Daivari followed this with a smooth neckbreaker, getting a two count and grabbing a chinlock while trapping the arm. As Swerve tried to slip out, he’d take a clubbing blow to the back but come back with a back elbow and spinning lariat.
The diving uppercut off the middle rope would be set up and hit perfectly, but then would send Daivari outside and nail the pump kick. Things weren’t looking good for Daivari, but he’d fight off the attempt at a Half & Half Suplex, but would get caught in a release Regal-Plex. Daivari kept getting up until he’d be hit with the House Call kick, closing this one out.
