Moments After The Beginning Of The Sho Against Bushi Best Of The Super Juniors 27 Match On November 15, 2020 via New Japan Pro Wrestling

The co Best of the Super Juniors (BOSJ 27) and World Tag League 2020 (WTL 2020) tournaments got underway on November 15, 2020. The event at the Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium drew a crowd of 2,558 (reduced crowd due to Coronavirus, 2019), and witnessed the largest card since New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW) returned from the COVID-19 (Coronavirus, 2019) delay.

The sixth match of the event and the third BOSJ 27 match saw former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and Los Ingobernables de Japon (LIJ) member Bushi face CHAOS member Sho.

The match could come back to be a defining moment for both as NJPW moves into 2021, as Bushi and Sho are fighting for an IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship match. Bushi was also looking to overcome his usual slow start during tournament action, which has cost him the opportunity to win past BOSJ tournaments.

Sho was looking to build off his impressive singles performances throughout 2020 as his Roppongi 3K tag team partner Yoh recovers from knee surgery.

The match began as a competitive affair, with both fighting for an advantage during the early portions of the match, however, Bushi lost steam during the latter stages and was unable to match Sho.

Sho was able to take the fall at the 10 minutes and 20-second mark with his Shock Arrow cross-armed piledriver technique. Sho presented himself as one of the favorites of BOSJ 27 and has momentum going into his November 18th match against Suzuki-Gun member Douki.

Bushi finishing the match poorly puts him in a rough position, but he faces NJPW Noge Dojo Young Lion Yuya Uemura on the 18th as his next tournament opposition.

Going forward, Sho is one to watch during BOSJ 27 as he continues to take positive steps as a singles competitor.
