New Japan Pro Wrestling’s (NJPW) New Japan of America (NJoA) subsidiary presented the first Road to Detonation tour event on November 27, 2020.
The marquee match saw Team Filthy (“Filthy” Tom Lawlor, Rust Taylor, JR Kratos, and Danny Limelight) take on Jeff Cobb, “Mr. No Days Off” Fred Rosser, former eight-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion Rocky Romero, and Ring of Honor (ROH) roster member PJ Black.
The match was competitive, breaking down to a brawl as the opening bell ring, but would develop into a less chaotic multi-person tag team match.
Lawlor would eventually get the submission fall over Rocky Romero at the 11 minutes and 42 seconds mark with a Rear Naked Choke after a fluid chain wrestling sequence.
The headline match of the event saw former IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champion Juice Robinson and ACH team together to take on the young duo of Adrian Quest and Jordan Clearwater.
While Quest and Clearwater were outmatched regarding in-ring experience, they did not back down from the competition. Clearwater came close to connecting with the Midus Touch Running Big Boot technique to Juice near the final stages of the match.
However, ACH was able to end the match with a Vertical Drop Brainbuster technique to Quest at the 8 minutes and 1-second mark.
The win gives ACH a bit of momentum ahead of the December 12th, one-night Super J Cup tournament.
The opening match saw NJPW Los Angeles (LA) Dojo Young Lion Clark Connors take on Logan Riegel. Over the past several weeks, The DKC/Clark Connors and The Riegel Twins (Logan/Sterling Riegel) have developed a rivalry, with the teams having a 1-1 record against one another.
Clark and Logan were accompanied by their tag team partner, highlighting the ongoing competitive feud. The match itself was competitive, with Clark relying on a high impact offense and Logan using quickness to offset the explosiveness of the Young Lion.
Connors would gain the submission fall at the 7 minutes and 47 seconds mark with a Full Crab technique.
