This past week on NXT UK, WALTER reminded everyone who he is. He’s the ring general, and he shut down Ilja Dragunov in one of the best matches WWE will have this year. It’s been getting five star ratings from all over the wrestling world, an instant classic. WALTER has proven time and time again that he’s here in WWE to stay, and will put on great matches along the way.
However, this means that he no longer has time for his previous and home promotion. WALTER has announced he is done with Westside Xtreme Wrestling.
WALTER Announces The End Of His Time In WXW, Closes Ringkampf As Well
It’s an end of an era, in more ways than one. While WALTER leaving wXw isn’t that much of a shock, him shutting down his old faction absolutely is. Ringkampf holds many of the same ideals as Imperium, and even shared some members, but it was a special part of wrestling for many. Their official Twitter account would issue the following statement.
“Dear Supporters, since everything has come to an end, we want to announce that we will close down our operations by the end of the year. Ringkampf was a way to spread our message and ideology about Pro Wrestling, and support ourselves early in our careers. Today, we are living our dream and are signed to the leading company in Pro Wrestling. This also means we are no longer able to compete in Germany or wXw on a regular basis.”
They’d go on to thank their excellent fanbase for all the great memories, and mention how they wanted this group to end in a positive way.
Will The Ring General Leave NXT UK?
While he won’t be going anywhere until someone is able to take the NXT UK Championship off his broad shoulders, this opens some doors for WALTER. He was strict on staying in the UK due to his involvement in wXw and Ringkampf, with that being all that kept him from moving to the United States. Now, he’s done with both of those, and they’re just parts of his past.
WALTER has major star potential, with his simple but effective matches always being incredible. He also has business to attend too in NXT, as Finn Balor started this year by calling out WALTER, but they haven’t had a chance to clash yet. He’s going to be one to look forward too, and seeing as he made his debut on both RAW & Smackdown last time they were in the area, we could see him shot right to the moon before long.
