Last week was a huge episode of AEW Dynamite, but these elite folks don’t slow for nothing. Tonight might not have a defense of the AEW World Championship, but we have some major matches and lots of promo time set, following up after last week. Kenny Omega is in the house, Sting will speak, The Young Bucks are in action and more.
Tag Team Action Aplenty
Seeing as AEW has the best tag team division around, it’s not hard to throw together a show full of big matches. The biggest on offer is The Young Bucks taking on TH2, a match following up TH2 beating Top Flight two weeks ago. TH2 want to be respected in the division, and if they can beat The Young Bucks tonight? They get the next shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
The former AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR are also back in action tonight for the first time since Full Gear. They will take on the very promising up and coming team of Griff Garrison & Brian Pillman Jr, known as The Varsity Blondes. This might not be as easy of a win as expected for FTR.
Finally, we have six man tag team action from the odd team of Lance Archer & The Lucha Bros taking on Eddie Kingston, The Butcher & The Blade. Archer has had issues with Kingston dating all the way back to All Out, and finally gets his hands on him tonight in a major grudge match.
Sting Speaks After HUGE Debut, Shaq Speaks As Well
The world was talking about AEW last Thursday, and part of that was the huge debut of a wrestling legend. Sting is back on TNT after 21 years, and tonight he speaks with Tony Schiavone for the first time in 25 years! No one knows what to expect from Sting. He has a page and stats on the AEW roster page, but will he wrestle? Sting put some extra focus on Darby Allin last week after his debut, will he have something to do with him? After tonight we might have a better idea of what he’s doing in AEW.
That isn’t all for Tony Schiavone as well, as he will also be helping NBA legend Shaq address AEW, with a focus on Cody Rhodes. Rhodes has been wanting to prove himself as a true giant killer, but you don’t get bigger than Shaq.
MJF Defends The Dynamite Diamond Ring, Inner Circle Could Be Dead
Last year, MJF won the Dynamite Diamond Ring when he beat Hangman Page. This has served him well, bringing him wins over the likes of Cody Rhodes through it’s usage. Now though, he has to defend this ring, after making the finals of last week’s Battle Royale alongside Orange Cassidy. One fall to a finish, and one ring to rule them all.
Speaking of MJF, his plan to destroy The Inner Circle is working wonderfully. An argument with Sammy Guevara has led to Chris Jericho threatening to end the faction tonight. He wants his friend to just get along, but if they can’t do that? Maybe it’s time everyone goes their separate ways.
What Is Next For Kenny Omega?
Last week, the show ended with Kenny Omega & Don Callis fleeing the ring after winning the AEW World Championship in what many are calling a screwjob. They worked together to take Jon Moxley down with a microphone, four V-Trigger knee strikes and The One Winged Angel. After showing up on Impact Wrestling last night, Kenny Omega is back home for a brief trip before heading to Mexico to beat up Laredo Kid in a defense of the AAA Mega Championship.
Also announced for tonight is Dustin Rhodes vs. Ten of The Dark Order, and Abaddon in action. What are you most looking forward to tonight? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
