AEW Dynamite Preview For 12/30/2020 [Tribute To The Life Of Brodie Lee]

Originally set to be the first night of New Years Bash, AEW had to change this show entirely just days ahead. Tragedy struck when Jon Huber, better known as Brodie Lee passed away of a lung condition this past weekend. At only 41 years old, this came as a major shock to everyone. Still stricken with grief, the AEW roster knew the show must go on.

Now, instead of a card full of matches like Kenny Omega vs. Rey Fenix to close the year out, we see the AEW roster stand next to Dark Order for a night of remembrance and matches. It’s Wednesday, you know what that means.

Hangman Page Only Wanted To Team With John Silver & Alex Reynolds Once

In one of the matches on the revised card that instantly catches attention, Hangman Page once again teams with John Silver & Alex Reynolds. Last time, they failed to defeat Matt Hardy & Private Party, but tonight failure is not an option. Hangman Page was someone Brodie Lee always wanted for Dark Order, he fit their mold perfectly, and is going to further build his chemistry with the group.

With Brodie Lee watching on from a new vantage point, they meet MJF who teams up with Santana & Ortiz for the first time. MJF is a new addition to The Inner Circle, and they are trying their best to get along. Their lack of chemistry and tension between members might lead to their downfall.

Brodie Lee’s Son Helped Book The Show, His Favorites Will Team Up

At only 8 years old, Brodie Lee Jr. is already putting some of the matches on this night, namely this one. We will likely never see this trio again, as Cody Rhodes, Orange Cassidy and Ten will team up. Everyone knows that Rhodes has a rough history with Dark Order, having been mauled and humiliated by Mr. Brodie Lee. His wife was attacked by Anna Jay, and their issues all ended with Rhodes being able to beat Brodie Lee in his final match ever, a vicious Dog Collar Match.

Orange Cassidy also had his issues with the faction, but that’s like, whatever. They unite with Preston Vance, one of the hot young prospects of Dark Order. Vance is a former student of Rhodes, who turned his back on him to join Dark Order. Together, they will face all three members of Team Taz. This match has main event written all over it, and should be one to remember.

Rounding out this card are matches like Tay Conti & Anna Jay vs. Britt Baker & Penelope Ford. Lance Archer teams up with Evil Uno & Stu Greyson to face Eddie Kingston, The Butcher, and The Blade. Young Bucks team with old friend Colt Cabana to face Matt Hardy & Private Party. Chris Jericho will be on commentary, and we can expect some heavy emotions from this show.
