Two weeks ago, TH2 was able to shut down the upstart young team of Top Flight. However, they went a tough too far by continuing the beatdown after the bell had already rang to signal their victory. This was all part of the plan, and it brought The Young Bucks out to the ring.
Now TH2 have gained the attention of the AEW World Tag Team Champions, and if they can beat them in the ring tonight, they’ll be in line for a shot at those belts! They just need to beat perhaps the best tag team in the world today, but if anyone can do that, it’s TH2.
TH2 Get The Early Strike
TH2 got this one started before the bell, not wanting to just sit around while The Young Bucks made their usual big entrance. This backfired, and Bucks took the advantage, taking Angelico down and suplexing Evans onto him before clearing the ring and jumping over the top. TH2 dodged, pulled the Bucks down and were going to throw them at each other. Instead, The Bucks turned this into a set of spears on the outside.
Jack Evans would be isolated in the ring, and use his agility to try and match The Young Bucks, before taking a hip toss into double dropkick, and tagging in Angelico to get this match back in their corner. He’d dump Matt over the top rope, before punching Nick in the face. Nick would counter the attempt at an armdrag with one of his own, before trapping him with a drop toehold and Matt hit a leg drop.
Angelico would fend off Young Bucks for long enough for Jack Evans to make the tag, and that would allow TH2 to regain control. The assisted 450 Splash, would hit, but they wanted a second and Young Bucks started the Superkick Party.
The Young Bucks Get The Comeback
TH2 tried to stop this when Evans countered one from Matt, and Angelico came in alongside Nick, who unloaded with the best hot tag in the business. Kicks, running high knees, and a bulldog/lariat combo let him take out both members with ease.
Nick would put Evans up top, and use the wrist of Angelico to launch himself up for the hurricanrana, sending Evans into the middle of the ring, before he rolled outside. He’d drop Angelico on his head next with a facebuster, but that only got two. Evans got involved from the apron, but got powerbombed into The Acclaimed at ringside.
Angelico was dropped with a running knee, and hit with Risky Business for the two count. Evans would tag back in and hit a neckbreaker & backbreaker combo on Matt, before a springboard 450 from Evans. Angelico would go for Razor’s Edge into the corner, but Matt countered and sent him into the boot of Nick.
And That’s Why They Are Champions
Evans was hit with a Doomsday Device on the ramp, Angelico in the ring with a double superkick, but he kicked out at two! More Bang For Your Buck was countered, and Matt landed hard on his knee, allowing Evans to get a reverse rana. Angelico got the Navarro Death Roll, and Nick had to dive in to break the hold.
Evams prevented Meltzer Driver, then dove to the outside with the Sasuke Special, only to be caught in position for Meltzer on the outside, but Matt hurt his knee again. Angelico couldn’t take advantage before a double superkick and BTE Trigger ended it.
After the match, The Acclaimed would look to attack The Young Bucks, setting up another match but SCU made the save. Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
