Hello and welcome to OVW TV 1114 Recap!
This looks like it’s going to be a fun one as the road to the Nightmare Cup continues, so let’s dive in.
Bryan Kennison and Steve Johnson opened the show stating how the Davis Arena is once again empty of fans due to Covid restrictions, but fans will be allowed to enter January 9 for the Nightmare Rumble.
After a back and forth, Kennison asked Miss Stephanie to introduce their special guest for the evening — Santa Clause.
Jessie Godderz arrived to present us another Gift of Godderz, and he took offense as Kennison referring to Santa as the biggest superstar to ever be on a wrestling show, and then gave Santa and autographed picture.
Backstage, Cali Young interviews AJZ and TGA Moss in an old school type of promo.
Dustin Jackson wished Moss luck but was then attacked behind by a masked man and injured his knee.
The Golden Boy AJZ defeated TGA Moss by pinfall
This was more of a brawl than not, but it was an entertaining match between the two.
Moss dominated from the start as he had revenge on his mind, but AJZ fought back and gained the upper hand for a time.
After a stalemate, AJZ hit 262 TKO for the win.
Update on Dustin Jackson
Backstage, an official put a brace on Jackson’s injured leg and tried to explain he had to wait for the trainer to arrive and clear him, but until then he would be replaced in his match.
If Jackson can compete, it will turn into a triple threat match.
The match would determine their placement in the Nightmare Rumble. The winner enters second last, while the loser enters second overall.
Nightmare Rumble Qualifying Triple Threat Match – Dustin Jackson Defeated Luscious Lawrence (w/Dillon McQueen) and Omar Amir by pinfall to secure the second to last entrance in the Nightmare Rumble
Continuing Amir and Lawrence’s feud gave this match a little extra spice.
Amir came out fast and strong, but Lawrence took over, with help from Dillon McQueen, and pushed Amir to his limits with an old school methodical approach.
Amir regained the momentum after dodging an attack from Lawrence, but couldn’t ignore McQueen.
Lawrence had it won when Dustin Jackson’s music played and he made his way to the ring in a leg brace.
Jackson hit Amir with a splash while Amir tried to pin Lawrence, and Jackson then pinned Lawrence for the win.
This was a better show than we expected with both matches being top notch and we enjoyed it. What did you think?
