Ring Of Honor Final Battle Results: Mark Briscoe & PCO vs. Jay Lethal & Jonathan Gresham [ROH World Tag Team Championship Match]

Last year at Final Battle, Jay Lethal & Jonathan Gresham would defeat The Briscoes to become ROH World Tag Team Champions. They’re still in that reign, but the Briscoes never actually got their rematch, and they won’t. While Jay Briscoe is focused on EC3, Mark Briscoe went and found another partner to challenge with.

He’s aligned with PCO, they’re both insane, but they’re both tag team specialists who want to add another reign to their legacies. Lethal & Gresham need to finish this as fast as possible, as Gresham has another title match tonight. If they win, they want future defenses to be under Pure Rules, but I don’t think Briscoe & PCO would last in that style.

PCO & Mark Briscoe Aren’t Here To Wrestle

Lethal called out the wrestling ability of both men then asked for handshakes, and would start with Mark Briscoe. He tried a hammerlock and took a back elbow, Briscoe cares not for the wrasslin’, he’s here to fight. Some big chops and stomps would frustrate Lethal, but when he got back in the ring he got the hip toss into a dropkick combo. Briscoe responded by tagging in PCO, and now Lethal is facing the man who once broke his arm, and PCO wanted to do it again.

PCO goaded Lethal in, and PCO got his wish. Lethal got the rear waist lock, and was outwrestled by PCO who got a cross armbreaker! Gresham was tagged in, and the size advantage was staggering. He’d try to wrestle PCO down, but that really wasn’t going to work while PCO was fresh and able to throw strikes. I want to note that no Pure Wrestling rules were broken until a closed fist broke an armbar attempt. PCO followed up by throwing Gresham clean over the top rope, tagged in Mark Briscoe and these mad men went flying.

An outside brawl led to Gresham getting suplexed onto the apron, and Briscoe throwing a chair into the ring to use as a launch pad for a dive. PCO & Briscoe threw chops at each other to get hyped up, and went back to beating up The Foundation. Lethal avoided the Swanton Bomb from PCO, letting him crash on the apron.

Jay Lethal & Jonathan Gresham Go The Distance

Briscoe stayed in this fight while his partner was out, but a dropkick assisted German Suplex from The Foundation dropped Briscoe. He was stomped in the corner as PCO rose from the dead with a sore back. Briscoe was almost hit with a superplex but fought free and went coast to coast to get a tag. PCO came in and channeled Kobashi with some chops before a pop up powerbomb.

Gresham tried to cut him down but got punched low and hit with a powerslam for a two count. Another brainbuster from Briscoe set up both men in place for a Froggy-Bo & PCO-Sault combo, but Lethal got his knees up while Gresham took the full impact. Lethal broke the pin up, and they’d hit a combo cutter on PCO for a two count, after Briscoe saved it.

A double rolling elbow and a doomsday device still wasn’t enough to take PCO out, and Gresham went for a Shooting Star press as well, PCO showing he’s not human by kicking out. PCO took Lethal out of the ring, but when he went for Gresham, he took Briscoe off the apron instead. Gresham got a sneaky roll-up for the win.

Will The Foundation keep all their gold tonight, or will Gresham fail to beat Flip Gordon later? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
