Last year at Final Battle, Vincent would injure Matt Taven with an axe, killing anything that was left of The Kingdom. This would cause Taven to be off for the bulk of 2020, even if there wasn’t a major pandemic that shut everything down. Taven is back, and he’s got an old friend on Mike Bennett to reform the Kingdom with. Vincent has a new friend in Bateman, a new faction in The Righteous, and these four men will meet in what might be the ugliest grudge match of the evening.
The Righteous Came Ready To Fight
As soon as everyone hit the ring, the brawl began. Taven & Bennett isolated Vincent, showing that six years away from tagging doesn’t matter. Taven and Vincent stayed in the ring to brawl, but Bateman tagged in and went after the knee of Taven. He’d manage to drop Bateman with an enziguri, and even with Vincent grabbing his ankle, Bennett got in and unloaded with some chops before drooping Vincent with a forearm and Bateman with a Fisherman Buster.
Dita von Starr of The Righteous would distract Bennett and throw off the spear attempt, Bennett running into the knee of Bateman. Bennett got isolated in the corner of The Righteous, being kicked while down and hit with Samhain forearms when up. Vincent tried for the side effect but Bennett countered. He’d get a Russian Leg Sweep instead, getting a two count.
Bateman tagged in and kept the ring cut in half with clubbing blows going right into a crossface. If this kept up, it’d be all Taven to try and finish this one. Vincent went for Redrum, but Bennett dodged the splash and threw a superkick, before being locked in the Grim Sleeper. Bennett countered into a brainbuster, and needed that tag more than anything.
Taven & Bateman because legal, and Taven was on fire taking both men down. He’d get the Russian Leg Sweep and move right into a neckbreaker, before kicking Vincent off the apron and diving onto him to maul him on the outside. Taven has a clear focus, and that could be his doom. Bateman pulled him in, but took the springboard kick and a knee strike. He wanted The Climax, but Vincent came in and applied The Grim Sleeper. This can’t end the match with Vincent not legal, but the damage was done.
The Kingdom Is Alive And Well With Matt Taven
Taven avoided Samhain again, and caught Vincent with a backbreaker, but was dropped with a neckbreaker from Bateman. Redrum was hit, but Taven managed to kick out, and Vincent was run down with a spear from Bennett before being thrown to the mat by Bateman, and Taven dropped Bateman with a DDT. Everyone was down, but Vincent & Taven got back to brawling and dropped each other with pump kicks and both tagged out.
Bennett & Bateman exchanged blows, but a big spear from Bennett won the exchange. He tried to wake Taven up for the Spike Piledriver, and they nailed it but Taven hurt his knee again and Bateman kicked out. Bateman was punched off the top rope, and hit with a Death Valley Driver on the apron. Outside, Vincent hit a backdrop driver and goaded Taven into the ring. Taven hit a knee strike and the frog splash but got the knees of Bateman instead.
Vincent went for Orange Sunshine but Taven countered into a flatliner into the Koji Clutch, but Vincent got the ropes. He crawled outside but got kicked in the head by Bennett. Vincent was held by Bennett and the apron, and Taven dove onto him and caused some serious damage. Back in the ring, Bennett hit a piledriver and backpack stunner assisted by a shining wizard for the win.
Afterwards, the beatdown from The Righteous continued and the issue between The Kingdom & The Righteous isn’t over. Taven was trapped in the ropes and choked out by Von Starr as Bennett would almost have his ankles broken with a steel chair. What could end this feud?
