With him being very friendly to everyone in the ring. This feels like it is hinting to a heel turn. Stepping away from that and more at Sting’s future in the company. It feels like at some point, Sting should win the TNT championship.
This is mostly due to the fact that TNT is where Sting grew into the icon. It feels only right that Sting should have the TNT championship at some point to make it feel like a full circle. There is one fallback to this, AEW are trying to push their younger wrestlers and use the legends to do this, not the other way around. Unlike some other companies.
A heel raising star killer
This though could be used as a heel gimmick. Sting could turn into the killer of a young wrestler and could lead up to Darby Allin losing against Sting then working up to beating him again. It could work if Sting was going to become the TNT champion. Making it in the long run pushing Darby Allin as the next icon also be some long time story booking which AEW are known for.
Or should he manage Darby Allin?
Sting himself has mentioned the reseamblation between him and Darby Allin. Making him the only logical person to Manage Darby Allin. AEW are very good with their older wrestlers and making them into managers. With Taz, Blanchard and Arn Anderson all being great in the management role. Sting could easily put Darby Allin to the next level in his career.
It does feel like they are hinting to this. With Darby Allin laughing at a picture of Sting and then there’s Sting hinting at something as well. Which would you rather Sting Vs. Darby Allin or Darby Allin and his manager Sting?
