WWE NXT Takeover WarGames IV Results: Dexter Lumis vs. Cameron Grimes [Strap Match]

Cameron Grimes will loudly tell everyone that he isn’t scared of Dexter Lumis, yet he flees after just seeing those cold eyes. Tonight, there will be nowhere for Grimes to run, as this feud finally comes to an end with a strap match. Grimes will be attached to the arm of Lumis, and this was his fault after bringing the strap into this feud! Will Grimes find a way to survive his fears, or will Lumis finally put him down for good?

Cameron Grimes Wants To Use His Own Strap

Grimes brought his own strap to the match, and was able to attack Lumis before the bell. Lumis was thrown all around the outside, and Grimes used that strap to whip at Lumis. This was the Savage part of his Technical Savage moniker, and he was keen to beat Lumis down before the bell could even ring. Lumis came back with some strikes, and got the Thesz press. He got the strap on and the bell rang, Grimes had nowhere to run.

Grimes tried to flee the ring, but was pulled back in. He’d narrowly dodge an attack from the strap, and head outside. Grimes tried to get over the barricade but was yanked back down. Lumis was in complete control of this fight now, hitting some crossface strikes on the outside before taking Grimes for a walk.

Letting up on the match for a moment let Grimes send Lumis over the barricade, but that only gave Grimes a quick breath before Lumis popped back up. He’d be yanked over the barricade, and Grimes was back on top. It went from a strap match to a slug fest again, taking Lumis to the timekeepers area and grabbing the bagged second strap.

Dexter Lumis Just Wants Silence

The bag was put over the head of Lumis, and the other strap was an easy weapon. Lumis blind and beaten, Grimes would be in complete control, until the instincts of Lumis let him nail a spinebuster and remove the bag. Grimes would be tied up in the corner, but was able to pull Lumis into the steel structure there for WarGames.

The running PK off the apron got Lumis down, before Grimes was yanked down to the floor. Lumis would get Grimes back in the ring and whip him with the strap, but Grimes came back and got a German Suplex into the corner. A steel chair entered the fray and Lumis was beat down with that before Grimes took a seat and taunted. He went for Cave In but was caught in a Fallaway Slam. Lumis would go up top and was yanked down with ease.

Grimes pulled Lumis into the standing spanish fly, but only got a two count. He’d go back to using the strap as a weapon, set up a Cave In again but was caught in Silence. Before it was locked in, Grimes slipped out. They’d sprawl for control, Grimes legs got tied up in the strap, his head locked in Silence and had no chance but tap out.
