AEW New Years Smash Night Two Preview [Brian Cage vs. Darby Allin, Kenny Omega In Action]

It’s Wednesday, you know what that means. Time for another episode of AEW Dynamite, with this week being Night two of New Year’s Smash! It will be impossible to match last week’s episode, which was headlined by Kenny Omega & Rey Fenix in what some called a five star match. Bullet Club reformed to close out the show, something which will surely be touched on tonight. However, tonight’s card is headlined by Brian Cage vs. Darby Allin, with so much more as well. Let’s get right into breaking this card down!

Brian Cage Gets His Shot At TNT Champion Darby Allin

Ever since Brian Cage showed up in AEW, he’s had it out for Darby Allin. Despite this, they haven’t met one on one until tonight. They’ve met in ladder matches, tag team matches and brawls, but tonight is when they finally figure out who is the better man. The TNT Championship is on the line, with this being the first defense Darby Allin will make as champion, and could be his last.

Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks In Six-Man Tag Action

After Omega successfully defended the AEW World Championship against Rey Fenix, he wanted to finish Fenix off. Butcher & The Blade isolated PAC & Penta, it was up to the rest of the roster to save Penta. In came Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson from Impact Wrestling, who flattened anyone who hit the ring.

The Young Bucks were soon behind, but on the side of Omega as well. Tonight, Kenny Omega teams with Young Bucks for some six man tag team action, as they look to show why they are elite.

Chuck Taylor Might Become Miro’s Young Boy

With Trent out of action with a torn pec, Chuck Taylor is on his own. Orange Cassidy isn’t exactly a top tag team partner, and Miro figured Chuck would be sidelined as well. Instead, Chuck challenged Miro to match in brash fashion, with the stipulation that if he loses, he needs to obey Miro until the wedding of Kip Sabian & Penelope Ford. A loss to Miro might damage more than the body of Chuck tonight.

Also announced for tonight is Inner Circle letting everyone know their New Year’s Resolutions. Tay Conti challenges Serena Deeb for the NWA Women’s Championship. PAC faces Eddie Kingston in singles action. Cody Rhodes appears in Dr. Britt Baker DMD’s Waiting Room. Jurassic Express takes on FTR.
