When there was a secret team just known as MSK in the field for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, everyone knew who to expect. Formerly known as The Rascalz, Wes Lee and Nash Carter took Jake Atlas & Isaiah “Swerve” Scott by storm, and made it to the second round of action.
Now they’re faced with a more cohesive duo in Killian Dain & Drake Maverick, who are manys picks to win this whole tournament. MSK can outspeed both men, but if Dain gets his hands on them, it might be a very short night.
Killian Dain Is A Powerful Force
Maverick chose to start for his team, starting with Wes Lee and taking him down quick before applying a headlock. Lee fought to his feet and shoved to the ropes to break the hold, before taking Maverick down. Maverick once again applied a headlock, but had his arm snatched before being sent into the corner of MSK.
Carter tagged in and hit a Bronco Buster on Maverick, before tagging in Lee for a diving splash. Keeping the pace moving, Carter was in again within seconds, but lost control after missing a dropkick.
Dain came in off the tag, and threw Maverick into Carter. Some clubbing blows followed Maverick being tagged back in, and once again being thrown by Dain. He’d trip up Carter and allow a running senton, before sending him into the corner for a combo pump kick.
Lee would get the tag, and MSK was able to cut Dain down to the size with some kicks, before he’d fire up and send Lee over the top rope. Outside brawling suited Dain, and kept the match in their corner throughout the commercial break.
MSK Pick Up The Pace
Coming back from the break, Lee was desperate for a tag after several minutes of being beaten down in isolation. Dain would crush him in the corner, and hit a scoop slam into a senton splash. Maverick tagged in and applied a front headlock, giving Lee a chance to fire up and get the tag.
Carter came in full of fire, and steamrolled Maverick, nailing a big knee under the jaw before a PK. He’d take Dain off the corner with a dropkick, before tagging in Lee for the pushing moonsault. Dain would be able to break the pinfall up, before taking a moonsault on the outside.
Maverick nearly rolled up Lee in the ring, before Carter tagged in and MSK hit the Blockbuster/Spinebuster combo for the win! MSK moves to the semi-finals, where they will face the winners of Legado Del Fantasma vs. Lucha House Party. Can MSK go all the way? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
