It has been a week of guessing work for the WWE Universe, as they look to predict who the Royal Rumble winners will challenge at WrestleMania this year. Edge has teased all potential championships throughout the week, but there is a strong indicator that he will target Roman Reigns and the Universal Championship.
However, it would have certainly peaked the interest of fans this past week, as he appeared on both Raw and NXT to stake his claim. Bianca Belair looks almost certain to face Sasha Banks, but could we see both superstars make their intentions clear tonight?
WWE News: Edge To Challenge Reigns
There won’t be much of a surprise appearance from Edge on SmackDown this evening, as the Rated-R Superstar has already appeared on both Raw and NXT over the past five days. Edge will look to come face-to-face with Roman Reigns, just as he did with the reigning champions on both other shows this week, and he will give the Tribal Chief notice that he is watching his position with interest. However, there could be a significant difference on SmackDown, as we could see Reigns make up Edge’s mind for him, and attack the Royal Rumble winner as he competes in an impromptu match at the end of the show.
Drew McIntyre was attacked by Sheamus after Edge spoke with the WWE Champion, which means that the Scot looks to be going down another route, while the NXT Championship was a curveball that many didn’t expect on Wednesday night. As cool as it would be to see Edge vs McIntyre, or Edge vs Finn Balor/Pete Dunne, there is no denying that Edge vs Reigns is the money match.
WWE News: Belair Confronts Sasha Banks
Bianca Belair’s win in the women’s Royal Rumble was the expected result for many, and the WWE Universe are already looking forward to her match against Sasha Banks at Mania despite the Rumble winner not yet having decided on the championship that she wants to compete for.
We could see the first indication that she will be targeting the SmackDown crown tonight, as she finally comes face-to-face with Banks. There is no denying that the match between the two women could steal the show at Mania, and it looks certain that this is the route that the WWE will be going in, and it will be fascinating to see who gets the upper hand in their first exchange.
