Jennifer Lopez And Alex Rodriguez – Power Couple End Their Two-Year Engagement

 

 

Performing sensation, Jennifer Lopez and former baseball slugger, Alex Rodriguez who have been together since 2017, have decided to end their two-year engagement.

 

In a joint statement they released to TODAY, the now former couple  announced, “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”

 

In March, rumours had it that they split. This was announced on US gossip sites such as Page Six, People and TMZ, after an unknown source revealed to them that the famous couple had “hit a rough patch” and had unofficially gone their seperate ways but the couple quickly debunked the rumors.

 

 

When the breakup rumors spread in March, Jennifer and Alex responded to them the morning after. They responded in a joint statement that, “All the reports are inaccurate. We are working through some things.” The work included Alex flying out to meet Jennifer, who is shooting Shotgun Wedding in the Dominican Republic, so that they can work on the relationship in person. However, Lopez had been having doubts about her ex and his character. Days after the rumors of their breakup spread, Jennifer’s friend told People that  “She’s been contemplating breaking up with Alex for six months.”

 

Another source told E! on March 12 that her friends didn’t like Alex because of his past cheating scandals. “Jennifer’s friends for a long time had warned her that A.Rod was not a good guy and that he was using her to clean up his tarnished image after his many scandals. For years, Jennifer did not listen to the warnings, but now she believes them.” the source revealed.

 

Jennifer band Alex have been together for four years. They got engaged in March 2019, and planned their wedding before COVID hit last year. This put the ceremony on hold. Jennifer Lopez has twins Max and Emme, 13, whom she shared with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. Alex Rodriguez also shares two daughters Natasha, 16, and Ella, 12, with his ex-wife, Cynthia Scurtis.
