Ever since Tyler Bate was able to get the better of Noam Dar in a Heritage Cup style match, which featured a brawl on the outside between Trent Seven & Sha Samuels? We knew this match would come. It’s been quite some time since we’ve seen Moustache Mountain in action, but as one of the longest standing tag teams in the UK scene, we know there will be zero rust in this partnership.
Especially as they take on Dar & Samuels, who are making their NXT UK Tag Team Debut, it’s easy to give Bate & Seven the edge here. Their last tag team match in WWE as a team was against #DIY at Worlds Collide, well over a year ago. It was good to see them back.
Sha Samuels & Noam Dar Want To Blast The Mountain Down
Bate would start with Dar, and they’d lock up hard in the middle of the ring. Dar would be thrown with an armdrag, before Bate applied a headlock. When shoved off, he came back with a shoulder tackle and applied an armlock to Dar to keep him away from Samuels. Dar would get a forearm shot to Bate and tag in Samuels, who called Seven ‘granddad’ before meeting him in the ring.
Seven dropped him with a crossbody and a scoop slam. He’d hit the running leg drop for a two count, tag in Bate and dump Samuels to the ground as Bate hit a diving senton. Bate grabbed the arm of Samuels, but took an elbow to back of the neck before Dar tagged in. A forearm to the jaw of Bate would be followed by a blind tag to Samuels as he was taken up into the airplane spin.
Samuels would take a knee to the jaw when he tried to corner Bate, who hit a diving uppercut. Seven tagged in and looked for the Seven Star Lariat, but Samuels countered into the STO and punched Seven in the side of the head. A cover got a two count, before Seven was sent into the wrong corner. Dar tagged in and attacked the face of Seven on the mat, before stomping his arm into the mat. The rest of the limbs followed, before Samuels got another tag.
Trent Seven Gets Isolated
A soccer kick to the back would stun Seven, as Samuels & Dar started to isolate him. Quick tags and constant pressure is tag team wrestling 101, and when Seven made a charge to Bate, he’d be scooped up and slammed into the mat. Dar looked for a Tyler Driver, and Seven broke free and went for a DDT before having his leg kicked out.
Seven was in deep trouble here, and Bate was desperate for the tag. Samuels just stopped a tag attempt, shoving Seven back to his corner as he yelled for Tyler. Dar applied a headlock, before having a kick blocked. Some chops and a DDT would frop Dar, and give his best chance for a tag yet.
A dragon suplex took Dar down again, and Bate finally got the tag alongside Samuels. Bate would pepper Samuels with punches before hitting an exploder suplex. He’d pop back to his feet and hit the running shooting star press, but Dar broke the pinfall up.
Moustache Mountain Reign Supreme
Seven took Dar out, before Moustache Mountain hit a tag team powerbomb for a near fall. Bate tagged Seven in for the big lariat/dragon suplex combo on Samuels, but was caught with a powerslam. Seven was slammed as well, but kicked out at two. He’d dump both men out of the ring, get a tag to Bate and dive to the outside.
Bate would dive out next, before Seven set up Burning Hammer and Bate drove Samuels down with a diving knee strike for the win! Is it finally time for Moustache Mountain to win the NXT UK Tag Team Championships? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
