It’s Wednesday, you know what that means. Finally, we get to see All Elite Wrestlings vision of WarGames, in Blood & Guts. We were going to see this match over a year ago, with The Elite set to take on The Inner Circle. Mr. Brodie Lee would have made his debut at the event, which was set to take place in his hometown of Rochester, New York. That didn’t happen, but now we have Blood & Guts coming. However, now it’s The Inner Circle vs. The Pinnacle. It’s not a one match card, but Blood & Guts is most important so let’s break that down first.
The Inner Circle & The Pinnacle Go To War Tonight
When MJF slipped his way into The Inner Circle, everyone figured he was wanting to take over the Chris Jericho led faction. However, that was never the plan. Yes, he wants to take the spot of Jericho in AEW, but not with Sanatana, Ortiz, Jake Hager & Sammy Guevara behind him. He can’t trust them, but he can trust his own faction.
MJF quietly built up an elite ground of his own, with Wardlow, Shawn Spears & FTR. After beating down The Inner Circle in a surprise attack, the drums of war were sounded. The Inner Circle fired back, promos were exchanged, and it became clear that these groups can and would tear each other apart if they have to.
So to keep everyone else safe, they will be put into two rings, covered with cages, and enter one at a time. The Pinnacle has the advantage in this match, but until all 10 men are in the cage, the match can’t truly begin. Once everyone is inside, it’s submission or surrender. This is going to be insane.
Kenny Omega & Michael Nakazawa Take On Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston
There are some other matches on the night, with the other notable match being Eddie Kingston & Jon Moxley taking on the AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and his close friend Michael Nakazawa in a tag team match. Kingston & Moxley both have issues with Omega and The Elite, especially Kingston who almost had his ankle broken by Omega & The Good Brothers.
Last week, they were close to breaking the ankle of Omega, until they were granted this match which might as well be a handicap match. Tonight could see a rare loss for Kenny Omega in AEW, so this is one to watch closely.
Also Announced For Tonight
We will find out who will be Number One contenders for The Young Bucks from a Fatal Four Way tag team match, seeing SCU, Jurassic Express, The Acclaimed and Varsity Blondes set into the ring. It’s one fall to a finish, and remember that SCU said their next loss as a team is the end, so that could come into play tonight. Cody Rhodes will return to the ring to take on QT Marshall in a grudge match.
