Britt Baker decided it was finally time to play things the saw that AEW likes. She wanted a shot to become the AEW World Women’s Champion, and to do that she needed to become the #1 contender. Baker put in the work on AEW Dark & Dark Elevation, getting wins over Tesha Price, Skye Blue, Shawna Reed and Alex Garcia to climb to the top. Now, she’s next in line, but needs to maintain her spot on top. So tonight, she will be in action against Julia Hart as she looks forward to another clash with Hikaru Shida.
Britt Baker Makes Quick Work Of Julia Hart
With Reba (not Rebel) in her corner, Baker was as confident as ever tonight. Hart was making her AEW debut, and she’s not one of the Calgary Hart’s. Baker nailed a kick to the gut before shoving Hart away and into the ropes. Hart blocked an Irish Whip but took a Slingblade. Reba already passed Baker the glove, and Lockjaw wasn’t far.
Hart tried to stay in the fight but was hit with an Air Raid Crash. That would have been enough to win the match, but the Lockjaw would be applied, and Hart was forced to tap out instead. A quick and easy match, before she faces the AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida at Double Or Nothing.
This was a total squash match, as expected. Right now you can’t expect someone like Julia Hart do much with Britt Baker. Baker looked good with her signature blows, but this one won’t be remembered. Match Rating: 2/5 (**)
