Caitlyn, for her part, made waves around the internet when she revealed her intentions to enter into the political sphere. While there were doubts about how serious she was in her desire to run, those were dispelled when she launched her official campaign. Her journey, though, will be done without the vocal support of her family.
During an interview on CBS This Morning, Caitlyn said: “I did speak with all my children [and] said, ‘Hey, I do not want one tweet, I don’t want you [involved] — this is my deal. I said if anybody asks any questions in the media — because obviously, they are in the media — I said just say, ‘No comment.”
Caitlyn was clearly hoping to minimise any unwanted distractions that could end up coming her way in order to focus on the political issues at hand. After all, we only have to look at the Kardashian’s reaction to Caitlyn’s previous venture. The latter had infamously appeared on the TV show entitled, ‘The Masked Singer.’
And Caitlyn certainly left an impression with the audience, but sadly it was for all the wrong reasons. The family had echoed similar sentiments too. During a previous interview with Us Weekly, Caitlyn stated: “Kendall and Kylie, when I told them I was doing The Masked Singer…I told them, ‘I need a challenge!… They said, ‘You are crazy.”
On reflection, things do not look very good for Caitlyn. She has not been doing very well in the recent polls, which only goes on to show the disconnect between herself and the electorate. Even though this may be, in part, due to the fact that she is running as an independent candidate, there is no denying that her lack of political credentials is working against her.
And so it showed. According to a poll by the UC Berkeley Institute of Governmental Studies, the “vast majority of Democrats, Republicans and unaffiliated or independent voters said they would not be inclined to support her candidacy.”
