The last time we saw Flip Gordon, he had gotten a tag team win alongside EC3 over The Briscoes. He would use the chain of Jay Briscoe to help steal the win, something which EC3 didn’t approve of. However, Gordon doesn’t have time to worry about that. He’s got bigger fish to fry than EC3.
Flip Gordon Has RUSH Right Where He Wants Him
Asking for some promo time today came with a purpose for The Mercenary. He’s had a shot at the ROH World Championship in his back pocket for the last year, since winning a Battle Royal at Free Enterprise. Gordon has watched RUSH defend the belt against some of the best wrestlers in the world, and now it’s his time to cash in his shot. He’s going to do what no one else has been able to do since PCO, and that’s beat RUSH.
Gordon would tell RUSH to get to the ring, but apparently missed the memo that all of La Faccion Ingornable, including RUSH are currently suspended from Ring of Honor. Despite this, he’d pull his shirt off and was ready for a fight. Music would hit, and it wouldn’t be that of RUSH.
EC3 Has Warned Gordon
EC3’s music would hit, and Gordon wouldn’t be avoiding his actions in denying him an honorable win over The Briscoes. He’d hit the ring with microphone in hand, and confront Gordon. EC3 simply told Gordon “You have been warned.” before walking away. This is about what we can expect from EC3 in his current character, but it does make one thing very clear.
Flip Gordon won’t be simply stepping past this issue with EC3 on his way to RUSH. EC3 is a man you don’t want to piss off, but Gordon did just that. Now, Gordon is going to have to wait and cash in his title shot, and potentially lose it to EC3 in the process.
