Adam Copeland would pour his heart out to his best friend Christian Cage earlier this week on AEW Dynamite – but his hopes would be dashed.
Cage would respond in very vulgar fashion, shutting down any chance of a final era of their legendary tag team. Tonight, Copeland will respond to the comments from Cage – and mentally prepare to face former TNT Champion Luchasaurus.
Adam Copeland & Christian Cage Had A Plan – What Happened?
For the first time ever on TNT – Adam Copeland would make his entrance. His theme song hasn’t lost it’s edge – and from the first note, had the crowd on their feet.
Jim Ross would hype him up as a legend – being the man who originally signed him to a WWE contract in the 1990’s. Copeland would mention that not only did Jim Ross sign him to a massive contract – he also ensured his college debts were paid in full.
This Wednesday on Dynamite, things did not go according to his plan – he was planning on his grand speech appealing to the better senses of his longtime friend.
He came to AEW to team with Christian Cage once again – that was the plan. It sounds like a fairy tale, Copeland was retired nine years ago and was told if he fell wrong – he could die. But he’s standing in an AEW ring.
For seven years of that time, Cage was also told he could never wrestle again. He’s here in AEW, as the current TNT Champion. They’re together again, in the same company – and when they first started talking about Copeland coming to AEW – that was the idea, that was the plan.
Somewhere along the line, he began colder and stopped taking phone calls. He’s never been the nicest guy, but Copeland still loves him.
When he stopped taking those calls – it should have been a sign. He’s in his super villain era now, and that leaves Copeland confused. Cage would be called out to the ring, to just explain himself. Cage would appear on the big screen – and said answers will come on Tuesday – if Copeland makes it there.
Darby Allin Fails To Make The Save
The music of Luchasaurus would hit – and Nick Wayne was by his side. The Right Hand of Destruction is bad enough on his own, but with a prodigy like Nick Wayne – even a legend of Copeland is not in a great spot.
Wayne would take a big boot, and Luchasaurus a spear. The Impaler would land, before Wayne was set up for a spear.
Luchasaurus would be catch Copeland with a chokeslam before The Extinction lariat to the back of the neck. Darby Allin would make the save as Copeland was set up for the Con-Chair-To.
Luchasaurus took a chair to the back – but Allin couldn’t hit Wayne. Luchasaurus would take advantage, and take Allin down before trying to break his arm.
