Tonight, things finally end in the feud between Leon Ruff & Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott. They’ve been unable to keep away from each other, and have proven that they can no longer be contained to the ring. So tonight, we will see them have the entire WWE Performance Center to tear each other apart. Only one man will be left standing, and whoever that is can say they are the best.
Leon Ruff Is A Bit Hot Headed
They’d get through their entrances without brawling, showing more restraint than usual. Granted, the referee had to stop Ruff when Swerve got into the ring. Swerve took his time disrobing, and knew Ruff would rush as soon as the bell rang and got him with a knee to the face. Ruff was thrown into the corner and took some strikes, before Swerve caught him on the ropes.
Swerve would block a crucifix bomb, as well as the spinning cutter. Ruff blocked a backbreaker and sent Swerve outside with an arm drag. He’d look to dive onto Swerve, but got caught on his shoulders and thrown right at the apron. Ruff was thrown across the entrance ramp into the barricades, before a sidewalk slam on the ramp itself got a two count.
Back in the ring, Swerve would place Ruff onto the top rope. A hard slap to the side of the head would fire up Ruff, but a superplex took him down hard into the middle of the ring. Ruff kicked out at two, but was thrown to the outside. Swerve hung out on the apron before looking for the PK. Ruff dodged and Swerve got caught on the ropes, and Ruff took advantage with a running dropkick.
Ruff would look to follow up by launching himself off the steel steps into a punch from Swerve, before Swerve threw a tool box at him. During the break through picture in picture, we saw Swerve set up the steel steps, but was unable to slam Ruff onto it. Ruff crawled his way to the back, and Swerve followed him, and shoved an equipment crate into him.
Isaiah ‘Swerve’ Scott Gets Some Help
They’d take a moment by the lockers, before making their way back to the stage. Swerve would keep on taunting, soaking in the boo’s from the crowd. An up-kick from Swerve put his eyes right in the path of a stage light, and let Ruff dive onto Swerve for a two count. Back on the apron, Swerve suplexed Ruff up into the air, but Ruff countered into a super crucifix bomb! He’d take too long to make the pinfall, and Swerve kicked out at two.
Swerve went to the apron and avoided a powerbomb, but punched the mat. Ruff would run up the steel steps and hit a reverse hurricanrana off the apron to the floor. Swerve rolled onto his stomach and couldn’t be pinned, but the damage was adding up. He’d call Ruff nothing and tell him to come at him, quickly setting up the Confidence Boost onto the floor for a two count.
Ruff goaded Swerve in, and had him knee strike the steel steps. He’d hit him again in the knee with the tool box, before sending him into the ring for a frog splash and a heel hook. Ruff used a wrench to lock the hold in tighter, but Swerve chopped his way out. Swerve was hit with a spinning cutter, and rolled to the outside where he took a second one.
Ruff sent him over the barricade, and wanted to dive onto Swerve. AJ Francis, an ally of Swerve and host of Most Wanted Treasures would catch him and slam him onto barricade. Swerve took him into the ring and nailed JML Driver for the win.
A wild brawl which used the WWE PC to full effect, but sadly only during Picture in Picture. They showed their best and what they’ve learned during this feud, and had some crazy spots. AJ Fransis made a huge debut here, and it’ll be interesting to see where Swerve go from here and if Francis will stick around in NXT. Match Rating: 3.75/5 (*** 3/4)
