Since winning the TNT Championship, Miro has truly hit his stride within AEW. Having dubbed himself “Gods Favorite Champion”, and unleashing his full power in every single match? He’s become damn near unstoppable. Darby Allin couldn’t stop him, Lance Archer couldn’t stop him, yet tonight Brian Pillman Jr. will try to do just that as he gets his first singles title chance in AEW, and a chance to prove Miro is just a ‘big bulgarian bitch’.
Brian Pillman Jr. Gets Off To A Rough Start
Miro was a dangerous man before he got a Messiah Complex, being undefeated in singles matches within AEW to this day. However, he’s been on another level lately, but Pillman shows no fear. Miro went for the running thrust kick, but Pillman dodge and hit some forearm shots.
Pillman would be dropped with a snap Samoan Drop, and Miro laid in some heavy mid kicks. Miro would take the fight out of Pillman with a body block and a fallaway slam, which sent Pillman rolling to the outside. He’d be given the time and space to crawl into the ring, and as soon as he got in, Miro would lariat him over the top rope.
Miro Can’t Be Stopped
Miro followed Pillman out this time, and launched him with an exploder suplex. Back in the ring, Miro hit a quick uppercut to Pillman, taking him down. The arms of Pillman were trapped in the ropes, as Miro hit some clubbing blows. Pillman countered into a stunner off the ropes, before Pillman hit a triangle dropkick to the glee of Jericho.
A dropkick through the ropes took Miro down, and Pillman kept it going by throwing Miro into the barricade. Back in the ring, Pillman hit Air Pillman, and only got a one count. He’d try for another one but faked Miro out and hit a superkick. Miro wasn’t phased and hit a roundhouse and superkick of his own, before locking in the Game Over. Pillman fought until Miro bent back, and he’d pass out from the pain.
Aside from a few hope spots late in the match, Miro completely dominated the match. He sold the offense from Pillman well and had everyone believe for a moment, before completely destroying him in the end. Match Rating: 2.5/5 (** 1/2)
