For a while now, we’ve seen Thunder Rosa become one of the top women in AEW. This was despite not actually being signed to the company, as Rosa was contracted to the NWA. However, she would still get a lot of focus in AEW, from facing Hikaru Shida on PPV to having one of the most iconic main events in Dynamite history when she had a Lights Out clash with Britt Baker. Now, we will likely see her climb the roster even more, as she’s officially signed to AEW.

Thunder Rosa Would Have Needed Her NWA Contract To Be Bought Out

This is an interesting situation, as Rosa was still signed to the NWA for the rest of 2021. She had requested her release in 2020, but it was not granted. Despite this, she was still able to work with AEW like usual. However, now she is out of the NWA thanks to AEW buying out her contract.

Tony Khan & Billy Corgan work together quite often, so they were likely able to come to a nice agreement. They will likely keep finding ways to work together going forward, which could lead to names like Nick Aldis or Mickie James getting involved with AEW down the line.

A Possible Contender For Britt Baker At All Out?

Considering the rivalry and chemistry Rosa has with the current AEW World Women’s Champion Britt Baker, we can assume they will have a high profile title match over her reign. It’s possible we even see this match on the card for All Out, as they look to have one of their biggest PPV events ever. Baker just won her first title defense when she defeated Nyla Rose on night two of Fyter Fest.

The future of Thunder Rosa in AEW is insanely bright now that she is fully signed. She will still be working with her company, Mission Pro, but it will be a lot easier for her to juggle that and AEW, versus AEW, Mission Pro & NWA. Rosa was already one of their biggest stars, and that will only continue going forward.

Do you think Thunder Rosa will eventually become the AEW World Women’s Champion? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
