When you’re the AEW World Women’s Champion, you have connections. Britt Baker was able to use hers to secure some huge news, that being a free agent that is coming to AEW. Tony Schiavone, like always, was fast on the case, and would catch up with The Good Doctor backstage to get this huge scoop.
The Huge Signing News Comes With A Big Match, As Told By Britt Baker
However, first Britt Baker would drop some big news. Rebel & Jamie Hayter would be joining the Casino Battle Royale. When asked who the big free agent signed with AEW? It’s a star who will keep the ratings high for years to come, and one of the best wrestlers in the world today. Of course, it’s Britt Baker herself!
Having signed a new multi-year deal with AEW, she had one condition for resigning. She wanted a handicap match with Rebel & Jamie Hayter against Kris Statlander on AEW Rampage this Friday. Obviously, fans were wanting some former two time NXT Champion, but not tonight.
Tay Conti Causes A Meeting Of The Minds
Tay Conti had a helluva win streak on the go, until Penelope Ford & The Bunny ripped it away from her by force. Ford ran the distraction, while Bunny used brass knuckles to drop Conti. Tonight, Conti will look for revenge on Penelope Ford, and potentially get the help of an old friend to even the odds.
Before the bell, Conti would dive onto Bunny & Ford to start off strong. In the ring, she’d grapple like a veteran with Ford, hitting a big facebuster for a two count. She’d head to the top rope but Ford knocked her down for a two count. Bunny would get some quick shots in behind the back of the refere.
Ford would maintain the control, working over the back of Conti and adding insult by going after the face. A comeback was brewing, and Conti would lay in some big strikes but missed the pump kick in the corner. Ford would take a diving crossbody however, before a huge judo slam for the two count.
Conti was thrown into the ropes before Ford looked for the Muta Lock but it was countered into a Calf Crusher. Ford got the ropes, but took the big pump kicks in the corner but was able to get the gutbuster for a two count. An inside cradle got a two count, and Bunny went after the ankle. Ford was shoved into Bunny on the apron, and rolled up for the finish.
After the bell, Bunny & Ford would go after Conti, but someone was here to help. Anna Jay is back, and would walk to the ring with the purpose to save Conti. Anna Jay will join the Casino Battle Royale, but will she win? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
