AEW Dynamite Results: Chris Jericho Needs To Get Past MJF, MJF Simply Wants To Be The Bigger Star (09/01)

At All Out, we could see the end of Le Champion when it comes to matches in an AEW ring. Chris Jericho is so determined to get one more shot at MJF, that he was willing to put his career on the line. Tonight, he will speak about that choice, while MJF speaks about what retiring Jericho would mean to him.

MJF Is Going To Eclipse Chris Jericho

Tony Schiavone would have the pleasure of spending an afternoon with MJF, which he called very uncomfortable. MJF would rhyme off the many nicknames of Jericho, and say that four decades is a long time to stay on top. Jericho has been known as the Greatest Of All Time, and that will always be true. However, by the time MJF is done? He will eclipse everything that Jericho did.

Jericho wasn’t looking to quit while he was ahead. He’s an addict, and needs the spotlight. MJF has taken the spotlight away, and that is why Jericho was so quick to give up his career for one more shot. At All Out, MJF will end one of the greatest runs in history – and that won’t even be his biggest accomplishment by the end.

Jericho Wants More, But Needs To Get Past MJF To Move On

This was the first live interview by Jim Ross with AEW, and he’d be emotional as he introduced Chris Jericho. The Chicago crowd was happy to sing along with Judas, and they’d be welcomed to Chicago Is Jericho. Twenty-two years ago, Jericho started his main event journey in this very town, and Jim Ross was the man who brought him there.

Ross had a simple question, why would Jericho put this stipulation on himself? First, MJF would be called a piece of shit, and the only thing he has over Jericho. That’s three victories. Those are burned into his brain, and that’s why he needed to put it all on the line. Jericho has never gotten anywhere being complacent, which is why he’s in AEW.

He could win a lot more championships, but it won’t mean anything if he can’t beat MJF. It’s the beginning of the end if he can’t beat MJF. Jericho wants more, he doesn’t want to stop, and that’s why he needs to take the chance. If his journey ends in Chicago on Sunday, so be it. He’ll do his best commentary job possible and thank everyone. However, if MJF wants Jericho out of this ring – he will have to be the best he’s ever been.

Will Chris Jericho retire on Sunday? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
