Following a hard set of losses at Extreme Rules, losing both the title match against Charlotte Flair and having Lilly be destroyed; fans expected Alexa Bliss to enter Monday Night RAW with a score to settle. However, she was nowhere to be found. While this confused fans, this is the start of a break for Bliss – who intends to take a bit of time away from WWE.
Alexa Bliss To Take A Few Months Off From WWE
In a report first coming from WrestlingInc, Alexa Bliss is planning on taking a few months off from WWE. The crushing set of losses at Extreme Rules were a good way to give her reason to return to the shadows to scheme, giving a reason for her to vanish from TV. We saw a lot of the old Alexa Bliss in the match at Extreme Rules, with her really taking the fight to Charlotte Flair and looking like a champion again.
Following the match with Bliss, Flair had the following to say in an interview. “The Alexa I faced was the old Alexa. It was the Alexa I saw when she held the RAW Women’s Championship multiple times. Sunday, she fought me and faced me. Yes, I’m still the Queen, but that’s the Lexi we all want to see. I don’t want to hear about Lilly. Ripping up Lilly was a wakeup call. A wakeup call to remind her that she’s still a champion at heart.”
Setting Up A Rumble Return And Wrestlemania Title Run
This could be a good move for Alexa Bliss, as taking time off now sets her up to return in the Royal Rumble in a few months. There’s no better place to return to the mix, and Bliss could even be now an early favorite to win the Rumble match. She’s consistently been a top star in the Women’s division, and has yet to win it.
Especially if Charlotte Flair remains champion, this could set up a big Wrestlemania match between two of WWE’s biggest female names. They always bring out the best in each other, and if Bliss is able to merge her Fiend persona with the champion fans came to love – it could be her best version yet.
