We’re just a few short weeks away from the return of WWE to Saudi Arabia. Crown Jewel 2021 is currently set for October 21st, at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. We already know the biggest match on the show will see Roman Reigns defend the WWE Universal Championship against the returning Brock Lesnar. However, a leaked poster for the event shows an interesting addition – that being the NXT 2.0 logo.
NXT 2.0 Currently Still Has The Backing Of Vince McMahon
We already know that both Smackdown & RAW will be involved with this show, but seeing NXT 2.0 in the mix is interesting. WWE recently revamped the brand, but also took it back to a more developmental stance. They’re not pushing it hard as a third brand like they did when it was going head to head with AEW Dynamite on Wednesday nights. However, with Vince McMahon having a more direct hand in NXT 2.0 – he might want some of their promising players to get involved at Crown Jewel.
Names like Von Wagner, Bron Breakker, and Odyssey Jones are set for major pushes on the brand. Add in that they are the type of classic talents WWE built themselves around, and having some big new heavyweights on the show could be a great way to introduce them to a major market. Even just putting them in a Battle Royale would be big, as WWE loves to do battle royales at these Saudi Super Shows.
What Could Be On The Card?
It’s hard to tell what will be on the card at this time. Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns is confirmed. We will likely see Big E either in action against Bobby Lashley with the WWE Championship on the line – or teaming with The New Day against The Hurt Business in a huge six man tag team match.
Rumors of a King of The Ring tournament have died out in recent weeks, but it was set to make it’s return with the finals taking place at Crown Jewel – so that could start up soon after the WWE Draft. Mansoor will be somewhere on the card as well, being the hometown boy.
