Bryan Danielson truly arrived in AEW last week, when he took Kenny Omega to a thirty minute time limit draw. He’d call Omega out for a rematch, but settled for any member of The Elite. Former AEW World Tag Team Champion, Nick Jackson stepped up for a rare singles match – which could be incredible. Nick is insanely skilled in singles and tags, and will look to show this tonight.
Bryan Danielson Came To AEW To Kick Some Heads In
Compared to the match with Omega, this one only has a twenty minute time limit. Danielson would be taken down the match with a headlock takeover. Nick was shoved off the ropes, only to hit a big shoulder tackle. Danielson would go after Nick, but was unable to catch him before he got outside. Nick took a big dive through the ropes, before a missile dropkick off the top rope in the ring.
Danielson finally caught Nick, and would nail some kicks before going into the Romero Special. He’d bend back into a Dragon Sleeper, but Nick would gouge his way out. We’d hear a “You’re Gonna Get You’re Fucking Head Kicked In” chant from the crowd, before Danielson was able to get Nick into an armbar. Nick would get the ropes, but Danielson would start to pick his arm apart.
On the mat, the wrist and elbow would be assaulted by Danielson, before also attacking the shoulder. This could have torn the arm apart, but Nick was able to get free. Some heavy strikes came from Danielson as Nick was on the ropes. Danielson would miss the running dropkick, and get sent outside where Matt Jackson nailed a sneaky spear.
Nick Jackson Is No Slouch
Nick would join Danielson on the outside with a double sledge, before hitting a pose like Macho Man. Danielson would be sent back into the ring, where Nick nailed a huge knee strike to the face. Nick would piss off Danielson with some mid-kicks, with Danielson leaning into the kicks.
Spitting into the face of Nick, He’d fire up and nail a running lariat before chopping Nick down with a series of heavy kicks for a two count. Running knee in the corner landed twice before taking two quick superkicks for a two count from Nick. 450 Splash was attempted, and Nick would barely get the ropes after ending up in the LeBell Lock.
Some kicks on the apron would go wrong for Danielson, as he met the steel post. A release German Suplex onto the apron sent him down to the floor, before nailing the dive. Back in the ring, Sharpshooter was applied, but Danielson was able to easily reach the ropes. Back outside, Danielson had Nick kick Brandon Cutler in the face before hitting a German Suplex on the floor. In the ring, Tiger Suplex got a two count, before he’d use the Hammer & Anvil strikes before Cattle Mutilation for the win.
A great clash of styles, and a great indication of what will be coming from Danielson in AEW. He is scientific in how he breaks opponents down, while also having deadly strikes. Nick Jackson proved he can hang in singles, Match Rating: 3.75/5 (*** 3/4)
