At Full Gear, Tay Conti has the biggest match of her career to look forward to. She will take on Britt Baker for the AEW World Championship, and that alone shows how far she has come since joining up with AEW. However, just ahead of that match – she teams up with good friend Anna Jay and current ally Thunder Rosa, as they seek to defeat Baker, Jaime Hayter & Rebel in some good ol’ fashioned trios action.
Britt Baker Leads A United Front To The Ring – Leaves Without A Win
Turns out TayJay now has theme music and matching gear – leaving Rosa as the odd one out tonight. This one was a brawl from the word go, before things would settle down with Rosa & Baker. They grappled it out, just giving the fans enough- we need to wait for that rematch. Rebel would tag in and take a huge facebuster, before some chops in the corner.
Jay would tag in, and Jaime Hayter would pull her outside for a three on one attack. Rebel would shut down any plans of a tag and try to hit a suplex, and on a second attempt got it. This is shocking, perhaps the first time we’ve ever seen her hit a wrestling move in AEW. Hayter would tag in and keep things steady, clearly the more skilled of Baker’s Goon Squad.
Baker herself would even tag in when it was nice and safe – only to take a suplex and neckbreaker.
Conti got a tag alongside Hayter, before just running everyone down and nailing TayKO for a near fall. Rosa would throw some strikes as this one broke down. Dangerous J kick was met with a superkick, and Thunder Rosa crushed Hayter with a dive from the top. Conti was alone with Rebel, and would send a message to the champ as she dropped her with the DDTay, getting her team the win.
The Acclaimed Get Another Chance On TV – Bowens Gets Punished By Jungle Boy
Anthony Bowens is in some hot water. Tony Khan continues to punish The Acclaimed for calling him a bad boss. They have since doubled down, and if their goal was matches on TV – it’s succeeding. On Rampage last Friday, he was beaten pretty handily by Bryan Danielson. But a win here over Jungle Boy could be a perfect way to bounce back.
Caster would take a shot at Jungle Boy being very confident in leaving his girl with seven guys, referring to Anna Jay with The Dark Order. However, he’d be at ringside as Bowens took care of business in the ring. Bowens would take the lead in grappling over Jungle Boy, before nailing a back elbow as Jungle Boy got some control. He’d waste time taunting and be slapped across the face.
An aggressive streak from Bowens would get some damage in – but Jungle Boy would weather the storm and nail a huge front flip into an armdrag before a no frills dropkick to the face. Some more chips would land to the chest of Bowens before Caster got involved outside. A brawl on the outside benefits The Acclaimed, until Bowens would meet the post with a chop.
Caster again got involved, allowing Bowens to get some more blows in. Jungle Boy keeps on coming, and some stiff elbow strikes and a huge lariat would drop Bowens. A thrust kick and slam got Bowens a two count. The roll up from Jungle Boy was followed by a Snare Trap attempt, Caster ran a distraction and was taken out before Bowens hit a DDT for another near fall. Second Snare Trap attempt lands, and Bowens had to tap.
Bobby Fish Joins The Elite As A Merc
After the match, Bobby Fish ran Jungle Boy down – likely taking orders from his pal Adam Cole. Cole was buttering up The Young Bucks with Fish, a man they know very well. They’d be clear there is no dispute – and it’s the era of The Elite here. On Friday, he’ll beat down Jungle Boy again – making Fish seemingly the mercenary of The Elite.
Could this see Fish become a full member of The Elite? Will Superkliq get the win at Full Gear over Jungle Boy & pals? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
