Adele’s Las Vegas residency is the talk of music shows due to the big money ticket prices right now via ticket resellers.
Reseller Sites Have Premium Adele Tickets Going for TEN THOUSANDS
At the moment, the primo seats—in the front orchestra section—are going for tens of thousands with the priciest tickets being in row A of 104 and 105. With a limited number of tickets left, they range between $31,749 and $36,569.
Adele Fans Upset As Ticket Resale Sites Offer 2022 Las Vegas Residency Tickets As High as $36,000
On top of that, the remaining tickets for these shows are a package deal where they’re only available if you purchase two. So, you’re looking at a little over $73,000 in some cases.
The rest of the ticket prices are a little higher than expected but aren’t far off from what headlining acts pull for a Vegas residency. At the lowest end are some sections of the first and second Mezzanine—the higher parts of a venue—which hover below $2,000 but are also part of a deal of two or four seats.
It should be noted that these are on resell sites such as Adele-Tickets. The tickets were purchased from reputable ticket sites. Originally, these same tickets were going for mid-to-high hundreds before Ticketmaster fees. These sites purchased the tickets at these lower prices and bumped them to the extreme.
Fans have taken to social media to voice their opinion on the price hikes. One of my favorites is user @Traciii_ who posted:
“Trying to decide who’s Christmas presents I can return so I can buy Adele Tickets instead”
Her post was accompanied by the meme of Adele doing her AMA. Looking at Twitter from when the presale started until now is a timeline of anticipation going around into annoyance, anger, and just having to laugh at yourself and the situation.
Their waiting in queue runs along when scalpers or resale sites would’ve gotten the drop on purchasing a ton of tickets to flip them for massive price spikes.
A Who’s Who of Residency Royalty
Adele will join headline company such as residency queen Celine Dion and other performers such as Elton John and Britney Spears who were pulling mid-six figures in the $539,000 and $654,000 range depending on the performer and the residency period.
To chalk it up into millions, during her 2003-2007 A New Day residency at Ceasar’s Palace, Celine Dion brought in an adjusted $485 million across 714 shows. When she returned for Celine which was a regular show between 2011 and 2019 for 427 shows, the Canadian singer pulled almost $300 million.
Fellow British star and music legend Elton John pulled over $200 million for his The Red Piano residency that ran between 2004 and 2009 and just under 250 shows.
Adele’s residency will be shorter, running from January 21, 2022, until April 16, 2022.
