Few people ever expected to see a sixty minute time limit draw on AEW Dynamite, but that’s what happened when Bryan Danielson faced Hangman Page for the AEW World Championship. Given that the match didn’t get a proper conclusion – Danielson remains the #1 contender, and that means we’re getting a rematch. But when will it happen? That’s a good question… and the answer is-
Hangman Page vs. Bryan Danielson II Has A Date
This match will go down on the debut of AEW on TBS! January 5th not only has night two of Wrestle Kingdom 16, but perhaps the first Match of the Year contender from AEW. Tony Schiavone would have some time to interview the AEW World Champion – and with just another minute he might have slayed The American Dragon.
After a sixty minute war, he was handed back his championship. However, after the match he never felt like less of a champion. He was let down with himself for not finishing the match. Danielson would come out to insult Page for feeling let down that he was able to keep his belt that way. AEW fans should be the ones let down, because Page got his ass kicked for sixty minutes – and now he should be the champion.
Danielson would accuse Page of stalling out the match to retain the belt, and doesn’t want him to do the same on January 5th. However he’s got the solution – on January 5th they bring judges, and can have a winner no matter what. We saw this system when Chris Jericho defended against Cody Rhodes – but never again.
Page would suggest a match with no time limit, because Bryan dragged him into deep waters – and he was able to swim and was about to drown Bryan. He’s come way too far for that title to lose it because of a judge. Too much blood, sweat & tears to have it end that way… so in two weeks he’ll beat Danielson within the hour.
Wardlow Claims Another Victim In Rapid Fashion
Last week, Wardlow put away Matt Sydal in just one minute and twenty five seconds… but that wasn’t fast enough for MJF. He was still upset with his personal bodyguard, because he went long on his match and didn’t get his champagne fast enough. Tonight, Wardlow is in action once again, and we’ll see if he can keep it short this time.
The opponent would be ‘Captain’ Shawn Dean, who would lock up with Wardlow and be sent to the mat before the powerbomb was set and landed. Last week, he hit three on Sydal, and the fans chanted for another and got it. A third would land, before the fourth. Wardlow pinned Dean with his foot for the win. Wonder if that was fast enough for MJF.
After a promo for the Saturday Night episode of AEW Rampage, with the main event of Cody Rhodes vs. Sammy Guevara – we’d catch up with Dan Lambert. He knows that every choice he makes has to be fair, unlike Tony Khan. Khan plays favorites, and holds men like Scorpio Sky & Ethan Page down. Back to Rhodes, Lambert doesn’t care who wins on Rampage, because he’ll make sure the belt comes back to American Top Team.
