Darby Allin had a strong year, and looks to close out with another win. He’s got someone who hopes to make 2022 their breakout year in Anthony Bowens of The Acclaimed, and with Max Caster & Sting at ringside – anything could happen in this one. He has already called out Darby Allin for looking like a run of the bill My Chemical Romance fan, but it’s a good thing Mikey Way LOVES THE ACCLAIMED. Infact, everyone loves The Acclaimed!
Max Caster Rips Into Sting & Darby Allin
Caster would say that Allin has a daddy kink due to his relationship with Sting, and called out Sting for having less ring time than he has a sex drive. Mind games don’t work on Allin however, and he’d be ready to go with the physically imposing Bowens. Allin showed his speed, getting the rear waist lock on Bowens before being thrown away from a headlock.
Bowens went for a chop block, and Allins was able to quickly dodge. A lock up and back heel trip took Allin down, but the bridging ability of Allin is insane, and his speed would see tie Bowens up into a cradle pin for a two count. Bowens headed to the outside, regrouped and this paid off as he’d maul Allin in the corner with some heavy strikes.
Allin would get revenge with a shotgun dropkick, sending Bowens to the outside. Caster tried to run a distraction and got flipped off for his efforts, before Bowens ran into his corner. On the apron, Allin was whipped hard into the ring post, and he’d ricochet off the steel to the floor.
Darby Allin Claims The Big Win To Close Out 2021
Back in the ring, Bowens would continue his attack on Allin. What makes Bowens dangerous is he’s such a well rounded wrestler, and when things slowed down he’d show how well he can control the pace of a match. Allin is at his best when he can be explosive, and Bowens was able to slow him down – something even CM Punk and MJF had issues doing.
Bowens would lose control, and Allin snatched two pinfall attempts before having his jaw checked with a big superkick. Sting tried to get the crowd behind Allin, but this crowd was loving Bowens and The Acclaimed. A heavy chop caught Allin across the chest, before a superplex was set up.
Allin beat him off, but couldn’t get the launch for the Coffin Drop, and Bowens hit a twisting DDT – and got greedy by putting his feet on the ropes. If he needed them or not, that’s up for debate, but the referee didn’t count the three. Allin would stomp the hand of Bowens onto the top of the ring post, before Caster stopped a suicide dive… until Sting took him out.
Allin would be dropped face first on the apron, but Bowens took time to jawjack with Sting and took a Code Red. The suicide dive came soon after, and suddenly Bowens was in trouble. One Coffin Drop later, and this one was over!
Following the match, Andrade El Idolo would come out – potentially showing the first rivalry for Allin in 2022.
