This past summer brought a major debut for AEW. Their first big developmental star signed was former Bronze Medal winning olympic boxer Anthony Ogogo. Trained by Cody Rhodes & QT Marshall, that perfectly set up his debut feud against Rhodes. He was the reason The Factory faction was formed by QT Marshall, being the group’s ace.
This made it a major blow when he was shoved into a barricade by Billy Gunn and suffered an eye injury. Ogogo is already registered as blind due to injuries suffered while boxing, but his tenth eye surgery was a success – and now he’s back to the AEW ring.
Anthony Ogogo Making His Return On AEW Dark: Elevation Alongside The Factory
His return match will come on the next episode of AEW Dark: Elevation. He will team with QT Marshall, Aaron Solo, & Nick Comoroto against Baron Black, Shawn Hoodrich, Tony Vincita, & Jo Munoz. This will be a great way to work off some ring rust before getting his big Dynamite return.
The last time Ogogo was on Dynamite was all the way back in June, where he defeated Cody Rhodes & Lee Johnson – delivering the KO blow to Rhodes as Marshall took the pinfall. Right now, Rhodes is finishing up a feud against Malakai Black and Andrade El Idolo, leaving a rematch between Ogogo & Rhodes on the menu for a show like AEW: Homecoming.
Time To Finish His Issues With The Nightmare Family?
We could even see a full on extension of the original feud between The Nightmare Family & The Factory, as it never got a proper ending. This would mean more QT Marshall on Dynamite, but would open up Andrade to chase the TNT Championship and allow Malakai Black to focus on producing a potential masterclass in professional wrestling with PAC. A small price to pay.
Considering how hard AEW pushed Ogogo out of the gates, we can expect him to make his way back to Dynamite in a big way very soon. There is potential in a second singles match between Rhodes & Ogogo, especially after Rhodes was laid out by the punch of Ogogo all those months ago.
Will Anthony Ogogo be able to regain his initial hype with this return? Should Billy Gunn enter witness protection after injuring Ogogo? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
