Lamar Odom has opened up on how he has managed to turn his life around in the aftermath of his split from his ex-fiancée Sabrina Parr.

The split was unexpected given that they had been engaged with a view to a wedding. But Lamar realised that they could not work out their differences, so he decided to put himself first by walking away.
In doing so, he has managed to make significant changes to his life which have resulted in him becoming a better person. In a post to his fans on Instagram, Lamar spoke on how walking away was one of the most difficult decisions he had to make.
He said: “The relationship was abusive. Many times I wanted to go back because-the dysfunction in me was addicted to the abuse.”
That is why Lamar did something that very few people do. He admitted that he walked away without any notice, which did not give Sabrina any time to prepare for what was coming.
Naturally, that did not go down well as Lamar revealed that he was being subjected to, let’s just say, not very pleasant messages.
That ultimately took its toll, as Lamar ended up getting involved in substance abuse in order to cope with what was going on in his life.
He added: “I sought solace in marijuana and a slew of random women, not loving any of them, not really wanting to be with any of them, but it beat being lonely.
Just as Lamar was at the bottom and in the depths of despair, he managed to pull himself out of this very difficult situation. He could not have done it without the support network he had, which is why he is now no longer on any substances.
Although he still has a long way to go to get to where he needs to be, he has taken the crucial steps on beginning his journey. He continued: “I wanted and needed to change for ME! My team had worked hard to get me a fresh start.
“Today, I am free. Drug-free. Marijuana free…I am a recovering addict.” It is great to see Lamar in a much better place.
