Over 3000 Envelopes Full of Money Found in Church Walls of Multi-Millionaire Pastor, Joel Osteen
After removing more of the materials, he found over 3000 envelopes full of money hidden in the wall.
The amount of the money was not specified. There have been no arrests or criminal charges pressed yet because of the findings.
There is speculation whether the money was stolen by the church and hidden there or if someone not affiliated with the church did it.
Over the years, there has been much controversy over the lavish life of televangelist Joel Osteen. A quick google search gives varying amounts for his net worth.
Google says his net worth is about 100 million, yet some other sites say around 40 million but no matter which is true, it could be said what does a televangelist need with that kind of money.
Two major controversies that Joel Osteen has been involved in are the idea that he practices the prosperity gospel and the 2017 Hurricane Harvey response.
Prosperity gospel revolves around the belief that by giving generously to the church, that the gains in your personal life will be increased because of it.
In 2017 a rumor started that Joel Osteen denied shelter for families displaced during Hurricane Harvey. Later on, he debunked the rumor and questioned where it started.
