It’s been quite some time since we last saw Christopher Daniels on AEW TV. Alongside his tag team partner Frankie Kazarian, he made a pact that their next tag team loss would be their last – which led them to the AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks. In a match that left Daniels bloody and with some permanent injuries to his eye, The Young Bucks would retain – and since then, Daniels has vanished from AEW programming.
Frankie Kazarian has stuck around, but has also failed to find solid footing outside of SCU. However, Daniels has remained busy in the ring outside of AEW, and there could be a perfect chance to bring him back into the mix of AEW – as he could be a member of the coming faction “The House Of Black.”
Is It Time For The Fallen Angel To Take AEW By Storm?
While AEW fans might mainly know him for his Ring General gimmick as part of SCU, Daniels is perhaps most fondly remembered for his character back in TNA. The Fallen Angel gave him a gothic presentation, which would fit what seems to be the next big faction in AEW.
Adding in a veteran like Daniels alongside the established Malakai Black & newcomer Brody King would instantly give some rock solid foundations. The three man lineup would also open up trios matches for the group – which are essential in the landscape of AEW.
We still have no idea how big The House Of Black could truly even be. There is a chance Julia Hart was added to the group after taking the black mist of Malakai Black, and others such as Dante Martin, PAC & Cody Rhodes have suffered similar fates. Black has been very busy since coming to AEW, and might already have an army.
Christopher Daniels Has Recently Defeated Brody King To Claim Gold In Defy Wrestling
For those who are wondering if Daniels is still able to wrestle at a high level, there are a few matches worth seeking out from the past few months. He wrestled AEW newcomer Daniel Garcia for Defy Wrestling, which stole the show. At NJPW Nemesis, he wrestled Jay White in his return to the company after years away.
Finally, he recently put down Brody King to claim the Defy Wrestling Championship. These matches all show that Daniels is still just as good as ever before. He’s the type of veteran who remains at roughly the same level as he gets older. He’s not as fast, but he still gets the job done better than most.
