Travis Scott has offered to pay for the funerals of the 10 people who lost their lives at his annual AstroWorld fest. One of the families has declined his offer.
The family of the youngest to lose their life, 9-year-old Ezra Blount, informed Scott’s lawyer that they will not be taking the financial assistance to help pay for their son’s funeral.
Victim of AstroWorld Tragedy’s Family REJECTS Travis Scott Offer to Pay for Funeral
In a statement from the Blount family lawyer, Bill Hilliard “Your client’s offer is declined. I have no doubt Mr. Scott feels remorse. His journey ahead will be painful. He must face and hopefully see that he bears some of the responsibility for this tragedy.”
While there is no word whether the families of the other nine victims decided to take Scott up on his offer or decline it like the Blount family, it seems like some people don’t think that it is 100 percent genuine.
The lawyer of Travis Scott, Daneil Petrocelli, has stated before that these offers will have no effects on the ongoing lawsuits from the families toward his client, Travis Scott.
Why Travis Scott is in Hot Water
At Travis Scott’s annual AstroWorld Festival in early November, ten people lost their lives and hundreds more injured.
This happened moments before Travis Scott took the stage to perform. The crowd started to get rowdy and rushed forward toward the stage causing loss of air to some people and many others to get trampled.
People saw things were going on in the crowd, and wondered why Scott would start and perform while people were getting hurt.
Travis Scott continued to perform even though there was something going on in the crowd. Scott claimed that he didn’t know that anything was going on.
This could be true because Scott’s concerts usually get much rowdier than other artists’ concerts.
