Von Wagner sent Kyle O’Reilly packing after a brutal Steel Cage match, but that was just the start for this newcomer. He plans on tearing a path through NXT 2.0, and O’Reilly won’t be the last man left broken. Who will face the wrath of Von Wagner tonight?

Champion vs. Champion Match Set For New Years Evil, MSK & Matt Riddle Ride Scooters

Before we’d get to this match, we heard from Diamond Mine. At New Years Evil, we are getting the match that is weeks in the making. NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong vs. NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes in a winner takes all match. Someone will get all the gold on January 4th, with that card really growing fast.

MSK & Riddle would be here once again, now with scooters. A scooter is like a journey to the destination. Wes Lee & Nash Carter are ready to show the teachings of Riddle in the ring, and they got some RK-Bro merch. Next week, they’re gonna call out Imperium – and Riddle is gonna be there to help… or is he.

They’d get hit by a car, and wake up for their dream. However in their bag was the RK-Bro merch, and Riddle stepped off a bus. More scooters would appear, and they’d avoid cars this time.

Edris Enofe Catches Von Wagner, Gets Beaten Down

Edris Enofe would get into the ring with Wagner tonight, and started fast with two big dropkicks. Wagner would catch him with a big powerslam, and Robert Stone was watching from ringside. Enofe would get a two count off an inside cradle, before Wagner nailed a big lariat.

Back in the ring, an angle slam would crush Enofe before a big lariat ended the assault. Robert Stone would be ignored, but he seems like he found his new client. Lord knows that Wagner could use someone to talk for him, and Stone is the perfect fit.

Io Shirai Shows That She’s Still The Star Of The NXT Women’s Division

Earlier in the day, Zoey Stark would have a rehab appointment for her injured leg. Io Shirai tagged along, and they’d all run into Legado Del Fantasma. Joaquin Wilde & Raul Mendoza wanted to jump the line, but Shirai got in their faces. Elektra Lopez would step in and say she’s not afraid of the former NXT Women’s Champion, setting the groundwork for tonight’s match. This is the biggest match of Lopez’s career – but for Shirai it’s just Tuesday.

Lopez would flaunt the power edge with a big scoop slam and running back elbow on Shirai. A second elbow was easily dodged, before she’d be sent into the corner – but was able to block the big swinging dropkick. The spinebuster would get Lopez a two count before applying a rear chinlock.

Shirai was able to break free, and nailed the 619 before a swan dive dropkick. Lopez blocked the second attempt at flying, before Xyon Quinn came to ringside to beat down Legado Del Fantasma. He’d get ready to distract Lopez with some mistletoe before Santos Escobar made the save. Shirai would drop Lopez with a palm strike and Moon Over Moonsault for the win.

Tony D’Angelo Has Reached The Main Event

Ever since the build to NXT WarGames, Tony D’Angelo has been provoking Pete Dunne. Dunne might have been lumped in with Team Black & Gold, but is as young as any of the NXT 2.0 Newcomers, but with years of experience already under his belt. He’s seen men like D’Angelo come and go, and last week he had him running for the hills – but tonight, they lock up one on one in the ring.

Dunne would go right for the fingers, but had to settle for a hammerlock. He’d try to stomp the elbow of D’Angelo out – but wasn’t able to keep him there. D’Angelo would grab the ropes to break the next hold, before punching Dunne in the face. Dunne would get D’Angelo moving, before being launched with a pumphandle suplex.

A German suplex would follow, but the second attempt saw Dunne land on his feet before a kick to the head. D’Angelo was sent outside, and a knee drop to the hand on the apron did some big damage. Throughout the break, Dunne would assault the fingers of D’Angelo, before taking some heavy knee strikes to the ribs – only to regain control.

Pete Dunne Uses His Experience To Get The Win

Keeping wrist control, he’d kick D’Angelo in the jaw before hitting some chops. To his credit, D’Angelo would weather the storm and nail a spear. A big lariat in the corner before a Northern Lights Suplex would follow before Dunne caught him in a triangle choke. D’Angelo would be hit with headbutts, before turning it into an exploder suplex.

Some slugging blows to the midsection would be followed by an underhook suplex into the corner. Dunne would come right back with a rushing forearm and running enziguri for a two count. D’Angelo would get his head stomped in, before throwing forearms with Dunne. The X-Plex was set, but D’Angelo blocked into a Falcon Arrow!

D’Angelo would grab a crowbar and try to use it before being taken into an armbar instead. Dunne would bend back the fingers with the armbar still in, but D’Angelo fish hooked the mouth to break the hold. Mouth guard was yanked out, and Dunne was sent face first into the middle turnbuckle. D’Angelo would try for his finish, but the fingers were snapped and he met a Bitter End.

After the match, D’Angelo would use the crowbar to choke Dunne out, before whacking the fingers with the crowbar. This one is far from over. Dunne won the battle, not the war.
