Jon Moxley is finally back in AEW, and is better than ever. Last week on Rampage, he crushed Ethan Page. This week, he’s getting a shot at Anthony Bowens – the Five Tool Player of The Acclaimed. Moxley was confronted by Bryan Danielson last week, and Danielson might be watching on once again tonight – and looking for a chance to strike.
Max Caster Pays For Dissing Jon Moxley
Max Caster didn’t have much to diss about Moxley, simply saying his wife hadn’t called him back and that his book was boring. However, this was enough to enrage Moxley – who took out Caster first before nailing a German Suplex on Bowens. He’d kick Bowens into the corner, before teasing a chop and instead slapping him on the back as Bowens ducked in an attempt to dodge.
This one went to the outside, and Moxley would be driven hard into the barricade. The fight would head into the crowd, with Moxley keeping the heavy strikes coming before throwing Bowens back to the ring. In attempting to crush the arm of Bowens around the ring post – Moxley got pulled in face first.
Moxley was on the defensive for the first time of this match, but Bowens couldn’t get more than a two count. A suplex was blocked with some knee strikes, before the X-Plex launched him. Some mid-kicks would land, before Bowens laid in the Rolling Elbow and Regal Cutter for a two count.
Anthony Bowens Tastes The King Kong Lariat
Caster would get some blows in on the outside – before Bowens would go to the top rope and was caught. Moxley raked the back, and looked for a super Paradigm Shift – before Bowens got the big superplex. Bowens hit a back elbow to put Moxley on the ropes, only to get thrown onto Caster. Moxley caught Caster with the dive, but was caught with the twisting DDT out of the ropes on the way back into the ring.
Moxley hit a knee to the stomach before eating a superkick and coming back with a piledriver for the two count. Bowens would block a sunset flip attempt and hit a knee strike to the jaw, before hitting The Acclaimed To Fame for a two count. Moxley would see Bowens coming in with a chain, but blocked into a Cutter. Caster rushed the ring, but was thrown out. Bowens was rocked with the King Kong Lariat, and Paradigm Shift ended it.
We’d see Bryan Danielson watching closely backstage, perhaps eyeing his next challenge. When will Bryan Danielson confront Jon Moxley? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
