Right now, one of the best workers in AEW is undoubtably Eddie Kingston. Ever since he answered the open challenge of Cody Rhodes, he’s never stopped stealing shows in AEW. However, everything comes with a cost, and the high impact Kings Road influenced style of Kingston is one that lends itself to injuries. He is now expected to miss a few weeks with a undisclosed injury.
Eddie Kingston Will Miss The Biggest Show In GCW History.
This injury was announced to the crowd at the recent AEW Dark tapings by Tony Khan himself. Not only does this take him out of action for AEW TV, it also means he will miss his planned match with AJ Grey at WRLD On GCW. This is the biggest event in Game Changer Wrestling history, taking place from Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. Right now, the main event of that show is set to be Kingston’s longtime friends Jon Moxley – who will be defending the GCW Championship against Homicide.
It has been confirmed that he will be missing the GCW event by the company. Given his history it would take an awful lot to keep Kingston away from an event like this. Kingston has been working with his shoulder taped up recently, which could be the culprit that is taking him off shows.
His Feud With Chris Jericho In AEW Will Have To Wait
Right now in AEW, Eddie Kingston is starting to work with the legendary Chris Jericho. They’ve been butting heads recently, with Kingston pointing out how he’s held the tag team of Santana & Ortiz down. Kingston has a lot of history with Santana & Ortiz, having guided them back in Impact Wrestling.
It was leaning towards Kingston getting them away from Inner Circle, but now we will need to wait to see what comes next from this storyline. AEW has proven to be adaptable, and will have something in mind as Kingston recovers. There is a good chance we see a trios match, with Jericho team with Santana & Ortiz to take on 2point0 & Daniel Garcia. They’ve been around this feud as well. This could be used to buy AEW some time.
