Maurissa Gunn And Riley Christian Split Three Months After Getting Engaged
The pair came across each other during the seventh season of ‘Bachelor in Paradise.’ And things were going so well that they decided to get engaged.
However, in a matter of just three months, the couple have made it clear that things were not going to work out. And that has left them in a state of shock, especially since it was unforeseen.
In a joint statement given to People magazine, the pair said: “We have decided to go our separate ways. Never did we imagine this, but we’ve come to a point where we both need to work on ourselves.”
It is not clear what led to the split, but outside of an alternative explanation, it could be boiled down to two things. First of all, the two may have rushed into things. After all, it is only possible to know about each other fully once the cameras are off.
Secondly, there is a feeling that there was some trouble brewing in the background as demonstrated by the activity on social media.
Prior to the break up, Maurissa had decided to remove photos that included Christian from her Instagram, as well as deciding to share a quote that was written by her sister stating. “All that glitters isn’t gold.”
And yet, we are not going to be finding out anytime soon over the reasons for the split, as the couple demanded to take some time out.
The statement added: “We’ve appreciated everyone’s love and support so far throughout our journey and we just ask that you please respect our privacy as we navigate through this.”
The response on social media was equally one of shock. A certain subset of people lamented the fact that they had to split, especially when things seemed to be going so well.
One person on Twitter wrote: “NOOOOO. They were my fav paradise couple last season!” Hopefully, with time, the couple will be able to address this fully and be able to overcome it. Time will tell how this will play out.
