The CHAOS trio of Tomohiro Ishii, Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI join Ryusuke Taguchi and Master Wato for a big ten man tag team clash. NOAH has sent some former tag champions in Daisuke Harada and Hajima Ohara, who have Daiki Inaba, Yoshiki Inamura and Kinya Okada. Goto & YOSHI-HASHI will carry the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships into this match, making them targets as NOAH could seek to earn some title shots for more crossover action.
ABEMA Kicks Off The Show With Stream Issues, CHAOS Nabs a Win
After some stream issues with ABEMA, which caused the first match to be shown as just a black screen with ring audio, we’d pick up with Taguchi hitting a flying hip attack before Ishii and Inamura took the ring. Inamura took the best of Ishii like he took the best of KENTA on January 1st, and dished it back with a big lariat.
A squatting suplex would come, but Ishii popped right back to his feet and ran him down with a shoulder tackle. YOSHI-HASHI tagged in and was slammed right into the ring. Okada hit the ring and rammed YH dowen with a shoulder tackle. NOAH would rush YH one at a time before Okada hit a Gutwrench Suplex and Goto made the save. He’d be taken out before Master Wato soared to the outside onto Inaba, and took a suicide dive.
Back in the ring, Inamura ran down both Ishii & YH, before Okada hit a waterwheel drop for a two count. YH would fire back with a chop and a superkick, and nearly got the fall. NOAH was held back from helping the rookie Okada. Boston Crab was applied, and Okada had no choice but to tap out. More stream issues would follow, and it became clear they should have used anything but ABEMA – but it came back just in time for the next match.
SHO Cheats To A Win
In one of the only singles matches on this crossover card, SHO will take on Atsushi Kotoge. SHO is not someone who battles with honor as a member of House of Torture, but knows a win here will still boost his stock. NJPW still trusted him in a singles match against a well travelled star, and he won’t let his home promotion down.
More technical issues came into play, before this match came back to working as SHO was choking Kotoge on the outside. Back into the ring, Kotoge would nail a dropkick to send SHO to the floor for a tope conhillo. SHO would be overwhelmed in the ring with a series of running lariats before a bulldog.
Kotoge would take some kicks from SHO before coming back with some overhand chops. He’d go up top, but the referee was thrown into the corner. A NOAH young lion at ringside was pulled into the ring, and SHO hit Kotoge with a wrench for the win. This puts NJPW to 3-0-1 on this night, as young lions went to a 10 minute draw, and NJPW’s Third Generation beat Funky Express.
HAYATA Gets Pro Wrestling NOAH On The Board
Taiji Ishimori is a veteran of Pro Wrestling NOAH, and meets an old rival in HAYATA in tag team action. Ishimori has Gedo to back him up, and HAYATA has brought Seiki Yoshioka. In the past, HAYATA & Ishimori battled over the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships, and HAYATA is currently the GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion – meaning a win here could open up a singles match for Ishimori for some rival gold.
More technical issues came with action coming back as Ishimori dropped Yoshioka with a seated senton. Gedo was beating Yoshioka with his belt at ringside, before Ishimori would rake the back of Yoshioka. Yoshioka would fire up with some kicks, before Ishimori shut him down. Gedo would punch Yoshioka in the face, and the referee refused to count. HAYATA was unable to get the tag, and Yoshioka was caught with that lightning quick German Suplex.
Ishimori would get to face his old rival briefly, before hitting a springboard kick. Gedo tagged in and looked for the Gedo Clutch but it was countered. Yoshioka would hit an axe kick to Ishimori and codebreaker to Gedo, before HAYATA hit a cross arm DDT and a crushing hurricanrana to get NOAH their first win of the night!
