Prince Andrew has deleted his social media accounts this week. This is coming after Queen Elizabeth stripped him of his honorary military affiliations and royal patronages. The Duke of York also agreed not to use his royal style HRH in any official capacity.
Recently, a US judge ruled that a civil case brought against Prince Andrew will go to a full trial in the autumn or 2022. Prince Andrew was accused of sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre who was allegedly trafficked by his former friend, the late Jeffrey Epstein and his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell.
Prince Andrew’s Ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson Still Supports Him
Prince Andrew denied the allegations, and his team’s attempts to have the accuser’s case thrown out has failed. His ex-wife Sarah Ferguson has been showing him support during this trying time. In November 2019, Sarah’s friend, Lizzy Cundy shared that the Duchess is “in love” with Andrew and is desperate to “protect him”.
Prince Andrew’s Ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson Stands By Him 100% Amid Ongoing Case
This took place after the Prince’s car-crash interview with Emily Maitlis on Newsnight. Emily told talkRADIO: “Sarah is a very sweet-hearted lady and she’s in love with Andrew. “She’s just being supportive like any other former wife. “They are still very close, they live together and she’s just showing her support.”
Another guest on the show, Richard Fitzwilliams criticised Sarah because she was pictured laughing and joking with security guards at the Buckingham Palace, and her friend responded, “It doesn’t matter if she went in there head down, stone faced. “It’s the stiff upper lip and she wanted to look supported.
“She is going to stand by Andrew, she has two daughters with him. She wants to protect. “Sarah has been naïve at times but she wants to be there for him.”
Sarah Ferguson Says She Stands With Andrew 100%
Last September, Sarah Ferguson said that she “kept my commitment” to her ex, the Duke of York. Speaking to local press on a trip to Poland, she said that their 1986 wedding was one of the best days of her life. “When you make that commitment, you decide to marry a prince. “And I fell in love with him.
He was a sailor, he is still. He was a helicopter pilot and was also a prince. “I kept my commitment, no matter what. People said: you got divorced. They don’t know how I feel. “Divorce is one thing, but my heart is my oath, my obligation.”
In December, she also said that the “fairytale” with Prince Andrew has not ended, defending him amid the ongoing civil case. Sarah said that, “I completely stand by Andrew 100 percent. He is such a kind, great man, he is a brilliant father and now a fantastic grandfather. “I feel very strongly that in this day and age that we must stand by our hearts, what we think is right with integrity and honour and loyalty.”
