On Thursday, Queen Elizabeth shared a touching photo and message to mark royal favorite, Sophie, Countess of Wessex’s 57th birthday. The Queen’s message which was shared on the royal family’s social media page showed Sophie cuddling a puppy during her visit to the Guide Dogs National Centre in Leamington Spa last year.
The Queen’s Sweet Message To The Countess Of Wessex
Queen Elizabeth’s message on social media read “Wishing The Countess of Wessex a very Happy Birthday today!” Sophie, The Countess looked completely in love with the puppies during her royal outing in November of last year. The Countess of Wessex took over the role as patron of Guide Dogs from the Queen’s cousin, Princess Alexandra, in July of that year, after 67 years.

Sophie was welcomed into the royal family since she tied the knot with the Queen’s youngest son, Prince Edward, in 1999. In 2022, Sophie became a full-time working member of the British royal family and she carries out hundreds of engagements every year as her role as patron of more than 70 charities and organisations.
Sophie has so many interests, which include supporting people with disabilities, women’s rights, as well as opportunities for young people. She shares a close bond with the mother of her husband, the Queen.
In fact, she called Her Majesty “Mama” in a speech she gave in 2019. Last week, after she enjoyed her Christmas break with the Earl and their kids, Lady Louise Windsor, 18, and James, Viscount Severn, 14, Sophie resumed her royal duties.
The Countess Sophie has travelled to Qatar with global sight loss charity, Orbis, where she paid visits to organisations, charities and dignitaries focused on championing eye healthcare programmes and dealing with avoidable blindness worldwide.
The wife of Prince Edward also met members of the Afghan female robotics team, who were removed from Kabul last year, and are continuing their studies in Doha. Sophie and her family currently reside at Bagshot Park in Surrey, which is located 11 miles from Windsor Castle.
