Back in December, Ring of Honor ran one of the best PPV events that 2021 had to offer. Final Battle 2021 was billed as “End of An Era” for the company, as they had plans to shut down for the first quarter of 2022. This was to give ROH time to restructure how they run their events, moving away from signing wrestlers to contracts. Fans were worried about ROH’s future, but after making a splash at Impact Wrestling’s Hard To Kill event – they’ve given fans further hope.
Ring Of Honor To Return On April 1st, 2022
From the official ROH website, we would get the following information about Supercard of Honor.
“Ring of Honor returns to live wrestling with Supercard of Honor – slated for Friday, April 1 at the Curtis Culwell Center in Dallas-Fort Worth. Tickets for the annual pay-per-view extravaganza go on sale Friday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. Eastern/10 a.m. Central for HonorClub members, and Friday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. Eastern/10 a.m. Central for the general public. Since 2006, Supercard of Honor has been the stage for some of ROH’s most memorable and historic matches featuring the best wrestlers on the planet. Keep it locked into ROHWrestling.com and ROH’s social media channels for Supercard of Honor announcements.”
Tickets being sold is a great sign that this event will actually happen. This should also ease the tensions of longtime ROH fans.
A Faction In Impact Wrestling To Keep ROH In The Minds Of Fans
While ROH doesn’t have any events planned for the next few months, they still have the attention of fans. Both of the men who can call themselves ROH World Champion, Jonathan Gresham & Bandido are hard at work defending their belts. Gresham in particular is keeping the spirit of ROH alive – with matches like his defense against Chris Sabin in Impact Wrestling.
Impact Wrestling will actually be the pseudo home of ROH for the coming months, as a new faction made their debut at the latest tapings. Vincent, Matt Taven, PCO & Mike Bennett are all on hand, and calling themselves “Honor No More”. It’s unclear how this group will return to ROH, but it’s expected these four in addition to Bandido & Gresham will be at Supercard of Honor.
