Many WWE fans were shocked recently, as WWE would release William Regal. For the past 20 years, Regal has been a mainstay of WWE – from being an in-ring talent to the best general manager in WWE history. Add in Regal being responsible for scouting some of their best talents over the years, and it’s no wonder fans and talent were upset by this. However, Regal had nothing bad to say about WWE – and will have little issues finding new work, as he already has an offer to join Impact Wrestling.
Tommy Dreamer Has Given William Regal A Job Offer In Impact Wrestling
While speaking on Busted Open, Dreamer would discuss the state of NXT 2.0 – and the release of William Regal. He had the following to say.
“If you look at management, and you look at, let’s say, the New York Giants, their G.M. is retiring, and then there goes the head coach that he picked. There goes everyone associated with that person. Triple H is no longer in charge, and everyone associated with him is gone.
The only guy who’s remained is Shawn Michaels, but Shawn was a Vince guy before he was a Triple H guy. Regal, the moment I heard he was let go, I shot him a text and said, ‘If you want to be a commentator at Impact or if you want to be a General Manager figure, just let me know.’ He will have something when he chooses to.”
Impact Wrestling Is Fine In Both Categories – But Regal Is Still Worth It
Right now, Scott D’Amore tends to handle on-screen GM duties, and Impact Wrestling recently got Tom Hannifan to take over Matt Striker’s role on commentary. That said, Regal would be a better fit as a GM than D’Amore – and his presence could bring some extra attention to the show.
Add in the sheer amount of knowledge about professional wrestling that Regal carries, and every major company worth their salt is wanting to have him on their roster in some form. He’s one of the most valuable gets in wrestling in 2022.
