Jurassic Express have finally become the AEW World Tag Team Champions, and they’re ready to make their first defense. They called for anyone ranked in the Top 5 of the Tag Team division to step up, and the #5 ranked John Silver & Alex Reynolds answered the call. Silver & Reynolds have lowkey been one of the best tag teams in AEW for a long time, and getting a major title shot will not be taken lightly.
Ricky Starks Gets Called Out By Jay Lethal
Before this match, Ricky Starks would call out Jay Lethal once again. On Dynamite, he’d save Team Taz. Lethal would come out to address Starks, and said that he stepped in because their bullying of Martin made him sick. Starks would be called out for the FTW Championship, and how little he defends it.
Lethal claimed that it’s because Starks is more concerned with his outfit – and knows the FTW Championship is not even recognized. He’d not expect an answer tonight, because he knows Starks needs his permission slip signed by Taz first. Starks was ready to attack Lethal, but referees kept them apart.
Silver & Reynolds Are Playing For Keeps Tonight
Reynolds & Jungle Boy would start this one off. Jungle Boy had some issues getting control of Reynolds, being tossed aside with the armdrag. Reynolds would take an armdrag and dropkick in response. Luchasarus would tag in and hit a huge overhand chop, before tagging out and setting up the delayed senton splash from Jungle Boy.
Silver would get a tag into this match – and nailed a hard running pump kick to the face. Jungle Boy was launched with a back body drop next. Silver would head outside and hit a rolling senton off the apron, taking down Luchasaurus. Jungle Boy tried for a dive but was caught into a suplex and Reynolds dropped him with a suicide dive.
Reynolds would be used to add damage to a powerbomb from Silver, with Jungle Boy landing right on his knees. Silver would drag Jungle Boy across the ring, and keep him isolated in the Dark Order corner. Jungle Boy would be able to roll free of the attacks of Silver, and Luchasarus would tag in.
Jurassic Express Remain Champions
He’d clean house – hitting a chokeslam from Silver onto Reynolds, which got a two count. Silver would weather the storm and take out Jungle Boy with a rolling elbow. He’d look to follow up with a Doomsday Device, but Jungle Boy fought free. We’d end up with a tower of doom situation, with Reynolds taking the worst of it.
Silver & Reynolds would cut down Luchasaurus and hit a Stunner into a German Supelx into a jackknife pinfall for a two count on Jungle Boy. Jungle Boy hit the Comebacker Lariat, before taking out Silver on the apron with a hurricanrana. An assisted Destroyer would get a two count, and Reynolds fought free of the finisher. He’d be caught with an assisted cutter soon after, and Luchasarus grabbed the pinfall for the victory.
