On a technical level, Adam Cole remains undefeated in AEW. His lights out loss to Orange Cassidy doesn’t count, and he remains undefeated in singles action. Tonight, that continues as he goes one on one with Evil Uno of The Dark Order – with Cole taking aim perhaps as Hangman Page next.
Adam Cole Shows A Dominant New Attitude
While Evil Uno is mostly known for being a tag team wrestler, he’s no slouch in singles. However, Cole ran right in with a big boot and showed he was all business tonight. Uno was pulled into the corner and stomped out, before Cole choked him on the ropes. A backstabber landed, before a superkick was caught by Uno.
The leg was led to the referee and Uno nailed a neckbreaker for an opening. Uno would stomp Cole into the corner, before he hit a big boot of his own. Cole would block the swanton bomb before nailing a shining wizard and two superkicks. Finally, The Boom landed, and this was a dominant win for Adam Cole. If he goes like this in every match – he will be a champion in no time.
Following the match, he grabbed a microphone and he called out everyone he beat in AEW to this date. He’d praise his undefeated singles run, and doesn’t care about the Lights Out match. We have a new Adam Cole, one who is going to take what he wants, and what he wants is some respect.
He’s one of the best damn wrestlers on the planet, and has been for years. At the end of the day, he always becomes the man he runs the show. There is something else he wants, and that’s the AEW World Heavyweight Champion.
Sammy Guevara Remains TNT Champion
Sammy Guevara is wasting no time making his second reign as TNT Champion really mean something. The ladder match that saw him get the belt again was damn near perfect, and tonight he’s gonna defend against Isiah Kassidy. The AHFO are putting a lot of pressure on Kassidy to get the win here tonight, but that might be what it takes to have this rookie shine bright.
Guevara had his ribs tapped up, still feeling the toll of the recent ladder match. Kassidy hit a chop to start before tripping Guevara up and nailing a single leg dropkick,. Guevara would kick off a slugfest, before getting punched in the ribs. Kassidy would get hit with a corkscrew dropkick before a dive to the outside – sticking the landing with a pose for the camera.
Back into the ring, Guevara would go to the apron, where Matt Hardy nailed a Side Effect to his old rival – while Kassidy had the attention of the referee. Kassidy chucked Guveara into the barricade. Into the ring once again, Kassidy stomped on the ribs of Guevara. A comeback came with a knee to the side of the head, before Guevara called for the GTH – but couldn’t get Kassidy up.
Andrade would come to ringside, checking in on the match and distracting Guevara. Kassidy hit a slingblade style backbreaker and a backstabber for a two count. A swanton bomb to the back would get another near fall, but Guevara had a bit left in the tank. Kassidy would go for the Twist Of Fate but it was blocked by Guevara.
Guevara hit a kick to the head before a double springboard cutter for a two count. Finally, GTH landed and this one was over. After the match, Andrade entered the ring, but Darby Allin made the save – and also might want gold/
